[Talk-us] user damages administrative boundaries around Rapid City
Hello, I've detected a user who damages administrative boundaries around Rapid City. I've tried to contact the user but I got no reaction. I've told the mapper that iD editor is inappropriate, as it has no built in validator but he didn't stop the edits. I want to ask someone from the US to take care of the case and to involve the Data Working Group if necessary. This boundary got deleted: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/194816 invalid geometry: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/195005 invalid geometry: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/194808 deleted relation: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/194807 There may be also other damaged objects. Re: [Talk-si] shifted boundaries between Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary
Thanks for your reply. The mapper has damaged the boundary again some hours ago, I didn't fix it yet: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/27819227 For me it seems that the user has no clue of how to edit boundaries in OSM. Maybe someone can explain him in his mother language how to edit boundaries. There also seems to be a copyright issue as the mapper has used GoogleMaps as source for his edits like he stated out on the Hungarian OSM Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/openstreetmap-hungary/auT9SU9Y3mQ Best regards, 4rch -Original-Nachricht- Betreff: Re: [Talk-si] shifted boundaries between Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary Datum: Wed, 31 Dec 2014 01:22:51 +0100 Von: Stefan Baebler stefan.baeb...@gmail.com An: "arch_a...@t-online.de" arch_a...@t-online.de There is the brief discussion i had with the user foringas about his changes:https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/26795077 All best, tefan On Wed, Dec 31, 2014 at 1:08 AM, Stefan Baebler stefan.baeb...@gmail.com wrote: Yes, i too was fixing the broken relations a while ago: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/26805749 when user foringas moved the border without taking care of the relations as well. I resisted from moving the border in any way, just fixed the broken relations. The border between Croatia and Slovenia is disputed in some places, most notably the maritime border in the Adriatic sea and along the ever-shifting river meanders in Panonian plain. The arbitration in The Hague is still ongoing: http://www.pca-cpa.org/showpage.asp?pag_id=1443 I suggest we wait for the outcome of arbitration instead of moving the border back and forth in a futile edit war. all best, tefan On Wed, Dec 31, 2014 at 12:13 AM, arch_a...@t-online.de arch_a...@t-online.de wrote: Hi, can someone with local knowledge take a look at the edits of the mapper foringas?
