I looked at the German example of the electronic_purses that is mentioned in
the Wiki and it was a chipped card that stores cash. As far as I know,
that's how the City of Ottawa cards work. I'm not sure if the City of Ottawa
cards are restricted to being used for parking or if there are plans to
expand them to be able to be used for other City of Ottawa services.

I've added one of these devices (976335024) to Ottawa and specified it
accepts coins, credit cards and electronic_purses. Annoyingly, they don't
seem to be rendered in Mapnik or Osmarender.

I'm not sure about that one. Aren't electronic purses / electronic
wallets useful at multiple vendors, and refillable?

Perhaps account_cards?  or add stored_value_cards or prepaid_cards?
payment:account_cards=yes

Why are all of those values plurals? That seems weird.

Ah... that looks like the right thing. Thanks! So, would the prepaid cards
you can buy from the City of Ottawa be considered *
payment:electronic_purses=yes*?

The vending machines would be amenity=vending

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Vending

* amenity=vending_machine
* vending=parking_tickets
* payment:coins=yes
* payment:notes=yes

We probably should differentiate between free parking and paid for parking.

Amenity=? for the ticket dispenser?

Hello...

Ottawa started rolling out pay-and-display parking machines. Is this
something that we might want to add to OSM? How should they be tagged?

Cheers!

That page looks like a mess to me, but I'm not interested in fixing it
so I shouldn't complain.

If it is limited access, dual carriageway, with grade separated
interchanges and no direct access to properties (driveways), then it's
a motorway. If there are some grade separated interchanges and some
level crossings, then consider trunk. If there are driveways and
direct access service roads, then primary is the highest
classification possible.

Hello all,

Is this still accurate:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Canadian_tagging_guidelines#Trunk

According to this, pretty much everything in Quebec is tagged wrongly
with motorway.

Should this be fixed? I have changed part of the 50 Lachute to
Grenville, but it is not clear where it stops, where the 148 is used
and how it's linked to Montreal (via the 15?)

Best,
Olivier
