Welcome back!

We're doing OSM meetups in Toronto and KW, almost every month. Come
on out and meet the gang.

Would it make sense to make the additions to global airport, and point
the Canadian airport tagging at the global guidelines?

[Talk-ca] Airports

2010-07-23 Thread Blake Crosby

Ahh... it's nice to be back on the list.

From the archives I see there are some new faces. Let me re-introduce
my self. I'm user bcrosby and started mapping the town of Aurora,
Ontario back in 2008.

I've been busy since then with another project called World Flight
Planner (www.worldflightplanner.com) which allows pilots to plan their
flights.

I'm going to incorporate some airport information from OSM into my
application. In the mean time, I'm also going to improve Airport data
quality in OSM. If nobody has any objections, I would like to put some
tagging guidelines in the Canadian Tagging Guideline Wiki Page
(http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Canadian_tagging_guidelines) for
airport specific information.

I will be sure to keep them aligned with the guidelines found at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Airport .

I'm then going to start adding or improving the airport information in
Ontario. Then work my way to other provinces.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

Blake
