We had a similar problem in Winnipeg, the old higher-res imagery was removed in favour of the lower res but newer stuff (or maybe it was the other way around, I can't remember) Microsoft just replace the imagery with good quality stuff that's just a few months old. For those not familiar with the Guelph aerial images, it seems they were much better before the recent Bing imagery update. Now with the new imagery, the entire city area is covered in snow and ice so it is very hard to see any details. Maybe the previous imagery was old, but at least you could identify features, trees, roads etc, now the imagery is almost useless. I guess it's not possible to see the older Bing imagery? J'ai remarqué un offset d'environ 1-2 m vers le sud et 2-3 m vers l'Est entre les zoom 19 et moins et les zoom 20 et plus. Problème de montage des tiles très isolé dans la région de la ville de Québec? Ou bien décalage général sur la dernière mise à jour des vues haute-résolution de Bing? Ou bien? La question fondamentale étant : que prendre comme référence en cas de doute? Le zoom le + rapproché paraît logiquement le meilleur choix puisqu'il est plus précis, mais si cette précision est décalée de la réalité... on enregistre une information fausse avec précision (zoom 20+ ) versus bonne avec une légère imprécision (zoom 19-) Vos opinions? [Talk-ca] Bing mis-alignment at UBC
Just an FYI for anyone mapping at UBC - my measurements show that the bing imagery is offset approximately 2m in the direction 150 degrees meaning everything should be about 2m north of where you draw it based on bing, where north follows the street direction. I took the true position as canvec, which agrees with BC 1m orthos, and other data sources.
