[Talk-GB] 3oh!3 concert at Koko - 29 Sep 2010 @ 7:00 pm

2010-09-20 Thread deb
Wondering if anyone wants to attend a very loud and hopping concert by a small band called 3Oh!3 that is performing at Koko on September 29 at 7pm? I'll be into London the week of Sep 27th and would love to get
together with fellow OSM'ers to listen to a fun band from my neck of the
woods!3Oh!3's website is:  http://www.3oh3music.com and their style of music
can best be described as: loud, distorted, electronic-pop music.  It's a
favorite local Boulder/Denver Colorado band that is touring the world and spreading their own brand of fun music! This site sells tickets: http://www.ballparks.com/tickets/concert_tickets/3_oh_3_tickets_london.htm that I think is a pretty good place to buy the tickets - but please let me know if there is a better site/place to get the tickets.Woohoo!Deb

Re: [Talk-GB] UK Bike Shop dataset obtained: please merge in locations in your area

Andy Allan and Shaun McDonald have created a webapp for the specific
purpose of merging (manually) this data into OSM.

http://shaunmcdonald.dev.openstreetmap.org/bike-shop-locator/

Effectively it has a map of locations not yet reconciled, i.e. a
checklist. Click on each location, and you'll then have a direct link to
the relevant bit of OSM where the shop can be added/updated/removed using
personal knowledge. Once that's done, it can be ticked off back in the
webapp.

The new Bike Hub iPhone app, which includes a bike shop finder has just
gone live*, so there is even more reason now to get the remaining locations
into OSM.

At present the data received by the app is coming from a local copy of the
ACT data held on the CycleStreets server and exposed through our places.xml
API. However, I am very keen to reroute this internally to using OSM
proper, as soon as most of the shops are in OSM.

So please do go to:

http://shaunmcdonald.dev.openstreetmap.org/bike-shop-locator/

and merge in the remaining data or check off ones that are already in OSM.

Shaun has made some further usability improvements to the webapp which
makes the steps required clearer.

[Talk-GB] Hunt the London allotments - with wiki page

2010-09-20 Thread Tom Chance
Hello,

If you have been helping to complete our coverage of allotments using
Robert's great tool, I have now created a wiki page to track our efforts:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/London/Datastore_allotments

Since the tool doesn't allow us to tick off red markers where allotments
definitely don't exist, please add any major disagreements to the list. If
you've checked out a whole borough, mark it as complete. That way we will
know when we've finished!

Best wishes,
Tom
