Great - I'm glad that it helps :-)

I've not looked at overpass before, but happy to take a look and add it in. 

If you (or anyone) have any pointers or example queries or anything to help me 
work it out, that would be awesome and definitely speed things up.

[Talk-GB] Sync problem with british-isles.osm.pbf

I've got a copy of british-isles.osm.pbf which was updating fine until
the 1st November when it got stuck at
start import from seq-nr 896702

The osm2pgsql stage is failing with ...

And now I'm stuck as to how to get it past the problem?
Is it a case of wiping the existing copy and downloading a clean copy,
or is there something to fix the update stream?
