Alright, I will focus on the districts north of Grand Union Canal,
with Wedgnock Lane as Western boundary and the A445 as Eastern
boundary. I will focus on shops and pubs, and I will also do access
restrictions and oneway streets if I happen to spot them. I would be
also happy to look at other features, if you have
suggestions/requests.

So still available are the Southern suburbs, the city center, and the
area around the hospital.

By the way, Brian and me traced most of the buildings in the Southern
suburbs. There are still a couple of buildings missing, so feel free

Looks like it will be a lovely day tomorrow, crisp and bright. I'll be

Hi Matthijs

We tend not to go in for objectives, just letting folk turn up, pick an area
and map what they feel like, on the basis that this might seem haphazard but
anyway we end up with an improved map. Armchair mapping beforehand of
building outlines is a good idea and some of us usually do this. You'll see
that I've already been active. I tend to map (and photograph)listed
buildings and I'll have my work cut out in Warwick as just about every
building in the centre seems to be listed. I've attached a dataset if you
feel like helping ;-)

Perhaps someone could give an overview of what we already have, and
what needs to be done? It seems like we have all (or most?) streets,
including their names, right? Do we focus on POI? Do we set ourselves

I have made a start by mapping the buildings in the faraway part of

Would anyone like to help me and continue by adding a couple of

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] January Meeting Saturday January 11th

2014-01-07 Thread Brian Prangle
Hi everyone

Happy New Year!

>From the feedback so far I suggest we meet in the Thomas Lloyd in the
Square - it's a Wetherspoons so we're assured of cheap beer and reasonable
pub grub. To accommodate Andy we need to meet by 430pm at the latest which
allows afternoon or all-day ;-) mapping. If it's cold or wet I guess we'll
be there earlier! For new folk - look for the OpenStreetMap HIVIZ orange
vest which will be either draped over a chair or one of us.

I haven't prepared a cake diagram so if folk could just use this email list
to indicate where they want to map so we don't duplicate effort.

See you on Saturday

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] January Meeting

2013-11-11 Thread Brian Prangle
Hi everyone

On Thursday we discussed getting together like last year for a December
Saturday mini-mapping party with an Xmas curry afterwards, but none of our
diaries would co-operate. So we decided to have the event on Saturday 11th
January when we'll map Warwick (which needs some TLC) until it gets too
cold/dark and then gather at a venue for some beers and a meal .or maybe
two venues - one for beer and on for eats. Venue(s) TBA - anyone know of
anywhere good/cheap? Even if you don't want to map just come along for the
beer/food and a chat.

Regards

Brian
