Hi, Some of you may have seen us give a presentation at ossbarcamp last weekend. We're in the process of building a website which will centralise the rather fragmented opensource community in Ireland. Basically it'll be a one stop site for all opensource events in ireland along with bios of the groups involved and their members if they like. Of course, this is meant to be a site built by the community for the community so your input is greatly appreciated if we're to pull this off. Currently we're taking comments on our site as well as on freenode irc in #opensourceireland. [OSM-talk-ie] IIA - Digitise The Nation, 17-21 May. Promotion Opp?
Hi everybody, The Irish Internet Association (IIA) are running a week long series of promotions and events aimed at the general public with the aim of raising the profile of the Irish Internet industry (their members, effectively) It's running in May, from Monday 17th to Friday 21st, all across the country. I think participating in the week would be a good way of getting the OSM message out there and possibly recruiting more volunteers. I have emailed the IIA about potentially running one or more mapping parties as part of the week and they were very positive indeed. I would be interested in your thoughts.
