This problem has been mentioned several times in the past, e.g. here
[1][2][3]. AFAIK it is a setting, which is not always on by default.

Re: [OSM-talk-ie] Eir lacking proper attribution

2015-09-29 Thread Stephen Judge
I have looked at the street and building detail for my area which I added
to OSM. The data is showing up on the fibrerollout.ie map, and I know for a
fact is data is not available on Google Maps. It would seem reasonable to
me to assume they are using Mapbox. Isn't this what Mapbox offers, the
ability to mix and match the layers of data you want from various mapping
services. Although if they are using Mapbox, I would have though Mapbox
would have included an attribion link to the OSM unless Eir removed it.

How shall we proceed with this, does someone want to cont
a

ct them? Have we formed a formal OSM Ireland organisation and is there
someone to detail with public relations like this? I am willing to call
and/or email them if there is no formal procedure as of yet.

Nope, I can see OSM data on both sides of the border, but it only appears to
be a roads layer from OSM they are using.
