Lest anyone think that WE are the ones who are confused here. :) 3 new amending Sis appeared a week or 2 back. One refers to Louth. http://opac.oireachtas.ie/AWData/Library3/HPLGdoclaid230119A_144931.pdf So 1. The committee recommended Dundalk Municipal Borough District 2. SI 626 of 2018 mandated The Borough District of Dundalk 3. SI 6 of 2019 mandated The Municipal District of Dundalk Note that amending SIs were also issued for Wicklow and for Meath. Let me just explain a tad. There are a lot of name changes between 2014 MDs and 2019 MDs. Brian is correct on the final names, rely on the SI in question there. Here are most of the boundaries bar Dublin, Cork (City) and Galway (City) http://www.boundarycommittee.ie/reports/Local%20Electoral%20Area%20Boundary% 20Committee%20No.1%20Report%20-%202018.pdf This recommended (apropos Louth) is on page 82 Drogheda Municipal Borough District comprising Drogheda Urban and Drogheda Rural local electoral areas Dundalk Municipal Borough District comprising Dundalk South and Dundalk-Carlingford local electoral areas Ardee Municipal District comprising Ardee local electoral area The SI states. http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2018/si/626/made/en/print?q=local+elector al+2018 (a) The Municipal District of Ardee consisting of the Local Electoral Area of Ardee (b) b) The Borough District of Drogheda consisting of the Local Electoral Area of Drogheda Rural and the Local Electoral Area of Drogheda Urban; (c)(c) The Borough District of Dundalk consisting of the Local Electoral Area of Dundalk-Carlingford and the Local Electoral Area of Dundalk South. This affects Canonical Names not the actual boundaries, which is most of the work anyway. It appears that the name= field should contain . name=The Borough District of Dundalk And not . name= Dundalk Municipal Borough District (like the committee recommended) BUT the boundaries, being sets of EDs recommended by the Committee as forming an LEA or an MD are not changed in the Sis and there is a handy description and map in the boundary committee pdf. The SIs for Cork are perhaps 27 and 28 of 2019 and are due on statute book within days. Franchise department do not have a pdf of variations between 2018 report and SIs. There is an new Si for municipal districts and there are name changes at least to Dundalk, Navan and Bray. Hope this may help someone. Colm is correct, the canonical data is always the SI. The only difference I found is that The PDF report recommends EG Westport(sp)-(sp)Belmullet MD where the SI orders that Westport-Belmullet (sic) MD is created, I used no spaces anyway. I have found no other differences. Pick your County from this complete list of the Sis, remember that none have been published for Cork City and County yet.
