Re: [OSM-talk-ie] New Local Electoral Areas 2018

2019-02-12 Thread Dave Corley
Hi,

Can I ask a stupid question or two

Why do we need to reflect previous ed boundaries?

Is OSM the right place to store that info?

Could someone reuse that data later in the same manner they use the current
boundary data?

Is it just a "nice to have" bit of info?

Dave

I have a request pending with the Cork boundary transition team (since I
haven't found a licence-free version of the data yet and they haven't
spray-painted the new borders "on the ground"). 😂

They haven't responded so far (have emailed them twice) so if anyone has
any contacts in the city / county councils, please give them a poke.

Thanks!

2019-02-18 Thread Brian Hollinshead
The SIs for Cork are perhaps 27 and 28 of 2019 and are due on statute book
within days.

Franchise department do not have a pdf of variations between 2018 report
and SIs.

There is an new Si for municipal districts and there are name changes at
least to Dundalk, Navan and Bray.

Hope this may help someone.

Re: [OSM-talk-ie] New Local Electoral Areas 2018

2019-03-09 Thread Brian Hollinshead
I have finished the Dublin Counties. They can be viewed at
overpass-turbo.eu/s/GNq or by entering

political_division=local_const and existed=2014- or existed=2019- in
"County Dublin"into the wizard.

Alternatively at u.osmfr.org/m/299562
For anyone not familiar with umap,

You can drag the image and zoom using the plus or minus or with the mouse
wheel.
The LEA name will appear when you hover over an area.
Using the 'disc layers' icon on left you can switch different layers on-off.
Using the 'paper layers' icon you can vary the appearance of the background
map.
