[talk-ph] Software Freedom Day at PUP San Juan
Isang magandang araw sa ating lahat. Nais ko kayong paunlakang dumalo sa isang maikli (at naantalang) pagdiriwang ng Software Freedom Day (SFD) [0] sa darating na ika-3 ng Oktubre, Lunes, 9:00-11:00am na gaganapin sa kampus ng PUP sa San Juan [1], Addition Hills, San Juan, NCR. Nakikipag-sabwatan ako :D sa PUP San Juan, upang ipabatid ang konsepto ng Free and Open sa software at kultura sa kanilang komuninad. Ang SFD ay isang programang nagtataas ng kamalayan tungkol sa Malayang (Free) software, mga kagalingan nito, at ang paghimok sa pag-gamit ng mga ito. Ito ay nakaugilang ginaganap tuwing ika-tatlong Sabado ng Septyembre, pero hindi naman ito nakataga sa bato. (Trivia: Ang ikatlong Sabado ng Septyembre ay "Talk Like A Pirate Day" parodic holiday din. :) ) Sana ay may pagkakataong kayo dumalo, at makibahagi. Gusto sana naming marinig ang inyong mga kwento at pagtatalakay tungkol sa: Free Software, Open Software, Linux, Free geo-spatial data, FOSS sa industriya at trabaho, FOSS sa pamahalaan, atbp. [talk-ph] OpenStreetMap Workshop in Bogo, Cebu
The French Red Cross, working with the Philippine Red Cross, is conducting a three-day OpenStreetMap workshop in Bogo, Cebu (or Cebu City, venue still undetermined at present) in the first week of February. We're looking for experienced mappers who can participate as trainers, and preferably from somewhere close to these areas. That was among my first suggestions Maning. I communicated my reservations about their activity's expressed objectives (supposedly, a ToT program), and their intention to add a few hours of OSM presentation, and the expectation to produce trainers out of the participants. Still no specifics about the venue, but I'll definitely push for more local participation.
