Re: [OSM-talk] setting up a server for a country
Kenneth There's a specific tilesathome mailing list where most of the t...@h people hang out. I've copied this post to that list, I'm sure someone there will be able to help you. Re: [OSM-talk] 68 GPS units donated to OSM
They are physically in London. Gekos don't weigh much, it should be feasible to ship them wherever they would be most useful. Any individual mappers (or organised groups) in developing countries should make a request through the GPStogo scheme. They have been kindly donated by James Doughty of Diass http://www.diass.co.uk. Thank you James. More details and a photos are on the OpenGeoData blog: http://www.opengeodata.org/?p=361 We want to put them to use in mapping parties and distribute some of them under the GPStogo scheme, but if anyone has a need for GPS units or interesting ideas about how we could make the best use of them please let me know. James also has tracklogs and mapping data for some French ski resorts. We are hoping that he will be able to donate this data as well, which will provide an excellent boost to the piste mapping that some of us occassionally have the opportunity to do. 80n ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
Re: [OSM-talk] Strange downloading problems
Your request is for quite a large area. The browser is probably timing out before any response is generated. Try using wget or curl both of which allow you to set a bigger timeout period. 80n On Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:47 AM, Peter Gaines peter_gai...@hotmail.comwrote: Hi All, I am experiencing strange problems trying to download certain areas of the map using a browser (Firefox) and the xapi interface. However when I give it a bounding box over south korea such as: http://www.informationfreeway.org/api/0.5/node[bbox=34,127,36,130]http://www.informationfreeway.org/api/0.5/node%5Bbbox=34,127,36,130%5D the downloaded file contains no data - just the osm tag itself. Do anybody know how I can resolve this problem? Regards, Peter. -- Free upgrade for your Windows Live Messenger!
