[talk-ph] osm-ph garmin maps minor updates
Dear Garmin OSMers, Just a couple of minor update re: OSM-PH Garmin Maps you guys might be interested http://esambale.wikispaces.com/osmphil_garmin Firstly, since I launched the daily updates, I am receiving more than usual bug reports about the map (both in the wiki and trac). Thanks to all bug reporters! As a result, we were able to fix a several minor bugs in the map mostly on the style and routing. This is very helpful especially for routing. One example report goes like this: 2010/03/25 20:07:04 WARNING (RouteNode): philippines.osm: Outgoing roundabout flare road (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/45176106) points in wrong direction? http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=14.16571&mlon=121.23975&zoom=17 This means that an outgoing way from a roundabout may have a wrong direction. Another one goes like this: 2010/03/25 20:05:32 WARNING (RestrictionRelation): philippines.osm: Turn restriction http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/456684 (at http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=14.55841&mlon=121.02640&zoom=17) 'from' way http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/32946692 doesn't start or end at 'via' node or way This means that this particular turn restriction relation doesn't have a via node/way I suggest you take a look at the report and fix what you think is an actual map error. This report is also updated daily. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/607635/osm-ph_gps_maps/latest/mkgmap.log.0.txt At the moment, please disregard the error like this one: 2010/03/25 20:05:32 WARNING (StyledConverter): philippines.osm: Motorway exit null (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=14.25618&mlon=121.40766&zoom=17) has no motorway! (either make the exit share a node with the motorway or specify the motorway ref with a exit:road_ref tag Thirdly, I launched an appeal to raise donations in order to upgrade the trac/svn site. This tool is important for me to monitor progress and track reported map problems/issues. http://esambale.wikispaces.com/message/view/home/21726283 After 3 days, I reached the target for upgrading the site for one year! Thanks to all the donors (they are listed at the bottom of the map download page). @maning ikaw mag set ng place and time, I can go almost anywhere and am mostly free kasi tambay lang ako. mwehehe @Sorbi Sayang nga inde ka nakapunta sa Marikina mapping party. May balak sila ulit na mapping party for Corregidor and Enfanta, sama ka na dun! Maraming salamat sa pahiram. ;) May solution na ba or site kung san puwede ko mag upload ng panorama/pictures ng mga places na naka connect sa OSM? Or maybe a way to add tags to point to pictures on Flickr or Picasa? Thanks ng marami.
