Re: [talk-ph] Mindanao Avenue to NLEX

2010-06-10 Thread eric pareja
There are signs along NLEX southbound that indicate that the Mindanao
Ave. link is now open. I was unable to try it but here are news
reports that it is operational (well, inaugurated.). There was talk
among motorists on the way back to Metro Manila about it being open,
but no verified anecdotes.

[talk-ph] Mindanao Avenue to NLEX

2010-06-10 Thread tutubi

underpass going to NLEX is now open to traffic.
The bridge and toll gate on NLEX i last saw a few months ago is under
construction but i've yet to see how it is now.

could the route and new toll exit be open now?

Ones using the SIRFstar III chipset seem to get good reviews
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SiRFstar_III
http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=143

Yes there are ones which just log. You use your phone / computer as the screen.
Or download once you're finished.

There are also ones which just receive. You use your phone / computer for
logging and as the screen.

I was just thinking ... if only we could get all the people wasting time on

Just dreaming ... Have a good weekend all.

I've recommended this Hong Kong site before, and will do so again Data
loggers start at about 500 HKD, but I got a non-logging GPS (which I hook up to
my phone / laptop via bluetooth) for about 275 HKD. Still going strong.

http://www.expansys.com.hk/gps

So if you know someone visiting HK, its worth a go.

Do you actually need the logging? If you're hooking it up to a phone/laptop
then maybe you just need the receiver, and can let the other device handle the
logging?

You're welcome to borrow mine for a test drive if you want.

[talk-ph] SOTM 2010 OSM-PH poster

2010-06-10 Thread Eugene Alvin Villar
Hi guys,

It seems maning can't go to Spain for the OSM State of the Map conference
and they can't give the slot to another Filipino so no one among us can
attend.

So an alternative is for us to just send them a State of the Philippines
poster! See this:
http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-au/2010-June/006371.html

What do you guys want to see on the poster? Mapping Parties definitely, but
any other ideas? Take note that the last time there was a presentation about
the Philippines was when Mike Collinson talked about OSM-PH back in SOTM
2008. http://vimeo.com/7097011
