[talk-ph] Ifugao's southeastern border
Ifugao's southeastern border looks like it should follow Magat River and it is currently placed about 1 km east of the river: http://osm.org/go/4z1w8Lq-- The river was presumably traced from Landsat which may be off by up to 50 meters. The borders were taken from NAMRIA topomaps and I have no idea if these are properly rectified. I'm inclined to delete the border along this part and transfer the tags to the corresponding parts of the river. Re: [talk-ph] Nokia Maps
There's some discussion about this at the main OSM mailing list: http://www.mail-archive.com/talk@openstreetmap.org/msg36237.html In short, it's too early to tell what will happen. I don't mind the Nokia thingy as long as they continue to let OSM trace from Bing Maps. :-) On Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at 12:21 AM, Wayne Manuel wrote: > What do you guys think about the implications of Nokia choosing the Windows > platform? [talk-ph] Nokia Maps
What do you guys think about the implications of Nokia choosing the Windows platform? Specifically, regarding this point: - Nokia Maps will be a core part of Microsoft’s mapping services. For example, Maps would be integrated with Microsoft’s Bing search engine and adCenter advertising platform to form a unique local search and advertising experience. How will Microsoft integrate this with their current OpenStreetMap initiative? Wayne Manuel ___ talk-ph mailing list talk-ph@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ph
[talk-ph] Proposal: araneta avenue as trunk
trunk hunting mode :P araneta is a wide road that connects Caloocan to QC to Manila and San Juan. it's other end is connected to 5th ave/C3 and linked with R10 of Navotas and Malabon, another trunk road Quezon Avenue and 5th avenue/C3 are already trunk roads... doesn't araneta deserve the same? how about Bonifacio that links it to NLEX, EDSA, Quezon city and Manila? it's a logical move at a certain zoom level where the linked roads should be easily spotted. this has the added benefit of optimized routing. from Quezon Avenue to Makati, my garmin prioritizes Espana (then Lacson to Osmena HW), that we all know is always slow moving against the faster pace of travel on araneta (that's why i pass there everyday) if not agreeable, suggest we downgrade 5th ave. to primary to be consistent thanks, -- --- I explore, therefore I blog. http://www.backpackingphilippines.com ___ talk-ph mailing list talk-ph@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ph
