Re: [talk-ph] OSM session at the National Remote Sensing Conference on May 29, 2013

2013-05-11 Thread maning sambale
The actual event is May 30-31 we are part of the pre-event workshops.
The participants are GIS and Remote sensing practitioners but we can
invite other people as well.

I suggest we go through:
 - OSM basics
 - How to edit/contribute
 - How to use the data (webmap embeds, garmin map, shapefile extracts)

Rally, can you help out too?

Others, would you be interested in helping out with this whole-day
 workshop?

 Dear everyone,

We are invited to manage a workshop on OSM at the
PhilRSS National Remote Sensing Conference on May 29, 2013.

Sorry for the very short as I got this email a few minutes ago.
I can't join due to some scheduled conflict. If anyone wants to manage
 this,
I'll put you in touch with the organizer.

Re: [talk-ph] OpenStreetBugs-like functionality is now on the main OSM website!

2013-05-11 Thread Eugene Alvin Villar
Hello all,

If you want some statistics on the Notes in the Philippines here's a nifty
page:
http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-notes-country?c=Philippines

As of today, 14 Notes have been added. And of those 14, 6 have been closed.

(Just click on the Go Back link on that page to see an overview of the
Notes worldwide and to also go to other countries.)

BTW, here's the official blog post announcing this new feature:

And here's the wiki page explaining the feature:
 http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Notes

If you're a map-app developer and you want your users to be able to add
their notes to the map, there's an API available:
 http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API_v0.6#Map_Notes_API

If you want to suggest features or report bugs on the Notes feature
itself, the official Github repository for the OSM website is the place to
