Re: [talk-ph] Some towns of Laguna a bit far from reality? (was: can you help me with this one?)

2010-09-21 Thread tutubi
Hi Maning,

i guess it's BSWM as it's also the roads I aligned in Pakil and Paete
as well as those I deleted/labeled as FIXMEs in Lumban town. The roads
I deleted in Pakil earlier were also labeled BSWM.

It appears the stray roads of Pangil are also duplicates for they
align with my trace, yet parallel with the main and only road in and
out of barangay Balian

Pagsanjan town only needed street names (added already) while Sta.
Cruz is pretty much covered and accurate so far

Siniloan is most problematic that's why I asked for help. you can see
I passed by the highway before going to Siniloan town proper to cvoer
more ground. Siniloan map need to me dragged southward and compressed.

btw, what's wrong with Magallanes?

thanks for the help

Pakil has some issues as well.

I'm guessing this an artifact of the old BSWM data import. Or
 probably similar to Magallanes situation?

it's a trace i did in siniloan, laguna from sta cruz. note the
mis-alligned roads, same ones i got from Pakil that i re-traced so
 it's ok now.

there are some roads in my trace that i passed by twice...looked like
the traces were just converted to ways thus the jagged roads

 thanks

Once this is corrected, we have covered most of Laguna (except Santa
Maria) already as per Eugene's Level 1-2 category:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Philippines/Geodata_detail_levels

 btw, what's wrong with Magallanes?
Look here:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/5766710
At lower zoom levels you can still see the fictitious roads. It seems
somebody, scribbled some non-existent roads. Fortunately, the Cavite
party corrected this.

 thanks for the help

BSWM data is sometimes quite wrong. I had to delete some of those roads that
clashed horribly with the traces we collected for GMA, Cavite.

2010-09-21 Thread tutubi
I already made re-alignments since i'm familiar with the road network
and also deleted spurious roads or added FIXMEs. I just have to
re-trace when I come home next month or during the long break in
December.

at least I won't find myself driving off-road again when i'm lost
in that part of the world

might also drop by and explore Sta. Maria. I went there years ago to
look for the old church only to be disappointed by a new one.
(Internet's really full of misinformation). I hope to trek to the
waterfalls if I can sneak from wifey who's quick to warn me not to be
so adventurous hehe
