[Talk-us] Whole-US Garmin Map update - 2013-03-28
These are based off of Lambertus's work here: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl If you have questions or comments about these maps, please feel free to ask. However, please do not send me private mail. The odds are, someone else will have the same questions, and by asking on the talk-us@ list, others can benefit. Downloads: http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2013-03-28 Map to visualize what each file contains: http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2013-03-28/kml/kml.html FAQ Why did you do this? I wrote scripts to joined them myself to lessen the impact of doing a large join on Lambertus's server. I've also cut them in large longitude swaths that should fit conveniently on removable media. http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/2013-03-28 Can or should I seed the torrents? Yes!! If you use the .torrent files, please seed. That web server is in the UK, and it helps to have some peers on this side of the Atlantic. Why is my map missing small rectangular areas? There have been some missing tiles from Lambertus's map (the red rectangles), I don't see any at the moment, so you may want to update if you had issues with the last set. Why can I not copy the large files to my new SD card? If you buy a new card (especially SDHC), some are FAT16 from the factory. I had to reformat it to let me create a >2GB file. Does your map cover Mexico/Canada? Yes!! I have, for the purposes of this map, annexed Ontario in to the USA. Some areas of North America that are close to the US also just happen to get pulled in to these maps. This might not happen forever, and if you would like your non-US area to get included, let me know. -- Dave ___ Talk-us mailing list Talk-us@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-us
Re: [Talk-us] Overpass API and T-mobile
Dear all, thank you very much. Now it looks quite clearly like a T-mobile US related problem. I do see only very few T-mobile US addresses (all from 208.54.X.X, although T-mobile has mauch more IPv4 space) in the log files for today. And a lot of people have just confirmed that the problem exists. I'll now ask at T-mobile US what has happened to that network route. In the meanwhile, T-mobile US users can hopefully work-around by using http://overpass.osm.rambler.ru/ instead. Re: [Talk-us] Overpass API and T-mobile
It may not help much, but it works fine on my t-mobile UK phone. Browser is firefox. As a matter of interest, does it work if you use your phones as access points and use the full computer browser? I couldn't get it either on my t-mobile phone. Same 504 error code. Re: [Talk-us] Overpass API and T-mobile
Roland, I could not access it through my T-Mobile serviced device. Time 2:03pm US Mountain Daylight Time (UTC-06). Not sure of IP address. [Talk-us] Overpass API and T-mobile
Dear all, a user of the OSM readonly mirror Overpass API has complained about getting always the HTTP error code 504 instead of a valid response with HTTP 200. After we have excluded all potential obvious problems on both the client and the server, he still sees the 504 and his requests never arrive at overpass- api.de. At this point I ask every reader for some help. I would like to exclude the possibility that T-mobile is blocking overpass-api.de. Can you open without problems http://overpass-api.de/index.html in your browser? If not, please tell me with your time of access and IP adress to get a picture of how much users are affected.
