[Talk-us] Labeling community gardens
Hi, I looked in the wiki for a proper label for community gardens, and I couldn't find a decent way to tag these things. Someone in the IRC channel suggested to tag areas with landuse=farm, but that would be incorrect because the city I'm working on already has quite a bit of urban farmland, whereas the community gardens are maintained by the people who live around them. I was unsure what to use as a tag so some plots are tagged by landuse=community_garden but I'm not sure if that is the best tag to use. [Talk-us] International grocery labeling
Hi, I can't tell if there is a standard procedure in marking ethnic foods. I assumed you could mark the store normally and perhaps add cuisine=* , except some of them specialize in multiple cuisines. I would like to work on a project that involves locating ingredients within a certain radius. I encourage other mappers to help me out by marking ethnic foods accordingly. It wouldn't be local to _me_, it would be local to the end user. I'm working on yet another food-based website, with one component being recipes. Most ingredients are easy to come by at the grocery store, but what if you're making lassi, for example? The database knows who uses rose water, so it would check the cuisine tag and show you where to find it. Currently I'm trying to map all the ethnic grocery stores in my town (Portland, OR) but I don't know. My ulterior motive is to find tortillas like my grandma used to make, before she got tired of making tortillas. =P Cameron ___ Talk-us mailing list Talk-us@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-us
