The river is indeed in the shapefile so that is the script I used,
http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/utils/import/nhd2osm/ as
advised on http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/NHD, that lost that river
during the process. 

The river itself has the following characteristics if someone want/can
update the script:

I would recommend checking the original shapefile to double check that it 
is in the data, then check in the osm files generated by whatever 
conversion script you are using.  If it is in both, then it is some uploading 
issue.  Some of the direct upload scripts don't give a fail message if the 
changeset is > 5 changes, even though the server won't accept 
those changes.

I also uploaded the adjacent sub-bassins but the river was not in there.

I did upload Area, WaterBody, FlowLine and Line. I am missing something?
