Dear Ashland Google Group
Just to clarify about the Google Tango Calendar, some people think because
its on my web site that it belongs to me. *It does not*.  It is the
calendar that is associated with the Ashland Google Tango Group and I just
embedded it into my web site for convenience..  When Nathan asked me to
manage this group, the first thing i did was set every members profile to

posting to the calendar is a little tricky and you need to have a Gmail
account and then click on the button in the lower right corner of the
calendar to add it to your own personal google calendar.  Then set the

[Tango-A] NA-W: A Myriad of Non-Tango Activities available at BurningTango

. Hiked at end of road on Mount Shasta Also walked along the McCloud
   river trail between waterfalls
   39. Fridays RV campground is quiet and scenic.
   40. Lake Siskiyou has delightful swimming and water temperatures.
   41. McCloud waterfalls were refreshingly cold and festive with summer
   loving hikers/swimmers.
   42. I enjoyed seeing Fowler Falls, lower and middle.
   43. Swim in the Lake Siskyou, hiking around Lower Fall to Mid fall.
   Stayed in the shade at the RV park- highlight was coming home to my own
   place/RV each night! Also brought a town bike: coasted downhill with tired
   feet after the milongas, so excellent. Hiked from Panther Campground on the
   Shasta's flank. Swam at the Middle waterfall not far from McCloud- cold 
   perfect!
   44. Went swimming at Lake Siskyou, exceptional, really a highlight.
   45. Friday's campground is very quiet and has splashing stream for kids
   and dogs, but is 6 miles away.
   46. Lake Siskiyou was easily accessible and close to McCloud for
   swimming. The McCloud falls were also great, a combination of easy hiking
   and swimming.

privileges is complementary.  If you don't stay, here's two options:

(1)  Park in the DoubleTree lot, come to the ValenTango registration desk
and pick up a pass which you will then give to the garage attendant as you
leave and pay $5.

(2)  Park in the DoubleTree lot, come to the ValenTango registration desk
and buy a $10 plastic key card pass which gives you in and out parking
privileges for the four days of the event.

non-stop tango in the quaint village of McCloud, CA. Sign up now, and
the price is only $45 for the Everything Wrist Band Pass.  (After that

Many of you have asked if I'm gonna do the Todos Santos Mexico tango
festival again this year.  The answer is YES!  The only difference is
that it will be a bit later in the year.  Dates are Mar 30-Apr 1,

Oh, and if you're a local teacher and would like to teach at this
event, just let me know and I'll see if I can schedule you a slot or
two.  However, before offering please keep in mind that you have to
pay your own way and your own lodging and won't make much money. It's
more for just the fun of being together and dancing tango in a super
cool little Mexican town.  Most of the local Mexicans are rather poor
and so to make it affordable we charge a measly 50 pesos donation for
each class--all of which goes to the instructor.  Last year each
instructor made perhaps a whopping $150.  With locals, ex-pats and
visitors, only around 40-50 attended--but we had fun and people loved
it!

Tango Silent Films in cooperation with the Portland 15th Annual
ValenTango Festival will be screening 3 films directed by Joe Leonardo
titled The Private Lesson, Oh My, What a Night! and One, Two,
Three!  This Portland-based film project is dedicated to creating a
series of short films inspired by traditional Argentine tango music.
The films are short (7-10 minutes) and modeled after classic silent
films, but with pepperings of modernity. They feature a motley cast of
recurring characters who traipse through the Tango Silent Film world
having adventures of love, ego and tango that are at once absurd and
humorous, poignant, farcical and realistic, frivolous and profound.
They will be shown Saturday 4:30p in the Double Tree North West
Ballroom.  Admission is free.

An amazing dance venue in the Rogue Valley is the Evergreen Ballroom
(6088 Crater Lake Ave, Central Point, OR)--an elegant ballroom with a
3000 sq ft spring-loaded maple floor that will used for the Ashland
TurkeyTango Festival Grande Ball (Nov 26, 2011, 8:00pm-3:00am).
However, because it's situated in the middle of nowhere and most
out-of-towners would have a hard time finding it, we're making it easy

Saturday evening between Ashland and the EverGreen as follows:
