GRID out of Range

2000-03-22 Thread Michael L. Wilson

Greetings,

BUG: When I delete message really fast out of The Bat, I get a
dialogue "GRID out of range." This bug has been present for the
last "every" version. I have never seen a version where this bug
did not persist. When it happens, the message list is dead. I
must exit and restart the bat. this is not good.

Of course it's on my home computer, and I'm in the office now. :-(
Anyway, DOC files are associated with Word, not Wordpad, on my system.
Can you open it with Word?

As my experience in the past, before I move The Bat! from one Computer
to another, at first I change setting of file attachment from "separate"
to "message bodies", then after exit, start and exit again I'm ready to
go to 1.42 beta.

Try it, perhaps some of your attachment making problem in conversion.

KR> Could this be a virtual memory problem?

It might be, in NT we can check this more details, dunno on Win9x.

agreed. Attachments should be attachments with a name one can
recognise and they really should be all treated the same way.

No problem, I see them doing that in the development groups all the
time..

I presume you have a linux on a mainly windows hard disk???
Try it the best way.. First Master is linux, set lilo to go to first
slave (ie win98) by default and after that you can reinstall 98/nt
OR linux without messing the other one up.. as many times as you want!
Set in Linux modes for Window drives to auto and tou have access and
there is a utility to run under windows the other way around
If you shared them on the same drive its amazing how many times
systems get corrupted...

For those of you who weren't following the filter thread...

Chris VanHonk's message finally convinced me to write the how-to on

I wrote it in a cpl of hours, so there are bound to be some mistakes.
Please take a look at it and let me know of the ones you find or any
omissions, or places where I could develop it more.

Text Attachments

2000-03-22 Thread Jerry Cook

Hello Listers

I have a problem reading .txt attachments using TB 1.42/b5. When I
receive an email with a .txt attachment TB appears to recognise that an
attachment is present (The little attachment indicator is shown in the
message list), but there is no file icon displayed to enable me to
open/save the file. Other file types appear to attach OK.

I noticed a thread earlier relating to *sending* txt attachments.
Sending appears to be OK - I can send an attachment from TB to another
mail client, but TB cannot *receive* them.

Anyone else notice this since upgrading their message base.

Best regards

Jerry Cook

Today's date is always stripped to ease visual separation "fresh"
messages from old ones...

Outgoing filters and no received & created date in B/5

2000-03-22 Thread Simon

A Chairde,

I've just noticed that in TB! B/5 that all outgoing mail filtered to
folders has the Date stripped from view from the 'received & created'
fields. It is in the kludge. Very small image attached as example.

Slán anois,

  Simon
