Yes.

Couple of questions:

1) Would there be a benefit to having a separate directory for each
   account?

2) Would there be a different directory structure for multiple users on
   the same PC?

As to #1 just thinking about the import process I would think the answer
to the above question would be yes. If there was a problem, you would
know what goes to where, and re-import them, then use the kill dupes to
eliminate messages already received without problem.

As to #2 I would think the same directory structure should be used
because it would be less hassle from an administrative view point unless
there is a benefit I can't think of presently. I did a search on
bat*.tmp and located only 3 files in "C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp".

Thinking out loud, and my $.02 worth.

I'm not having the temp problem you're having and I don't run MyGate or

Some users from Poland also observe many thousands of .tmp files with
TB/MyGate combination. Solution of this problem was to change NNTP server to
faster one.

There are two schools of thought here that I can see. First on the negative
side, spooling mail first in RFC2822, would probably require some type of
mbox *nux format, where each email pointer would be on the From: or some
such, I am assuming...

This has a negative effect in that you are handling incoming mail twice...
once for the spool, once for the permanent message base in TB! format.
Processing mail, in general, more than necessary is not a good thing, more
things can go wrong, e.g. malformed headers being processed, etc... I have
seen many mbox formated spools, from large message bases, corrupted. If this
were to be done, some very heavy duty programming checks would have to be in
place to avoid this, as not all MTAs are compliant, to include possible
header rewrites/additons. You also then have to deal with increased,
expensive CPU cycles and mail processing time.

On the positive side, it would eliminate broken .tmp files, as the same
spool file would be written each time. It would probably offer better/faster
filtering capabilities and some backend mail safety features, although the
POP3 protocol would still keep mail on the server during a broken POP3
transaction..

HTML messages encodied in Big5 are still displayed blank. In the
plain-text viewer, I can read the text fine.

I just copied this from the Source Viewer, if it is of any help:

At the office, this is a real issue, as I receive a lot of mails from
Hong Kong and Taiwan, and I have set the HTML viewer as default for
certain reasons. So, those messages must always get the F9-treatment,
which is annoying.

After I turn on my computer, I open TB and hit "Check Mail for All".
TB dials up, and the modem number at my university is usually busy, so
I get an error-pop. A few seconds later, TB will try again.

After a while, I get tired and don't want to try any more. I hit
"Abort" and start another - manual - dial-up process to my pay-for
ISP. I used to be able to abort by just hitting , as the Abort
button was the default button on that pop-up error window.

In beta 40, however, the Retry button is the default button instead of
the Abort buttun . Why? TB retries automatically (unless you set the
max number of retries to zero).

Of course I can use the mouse to click on Abort, or I can find the
little A-key on my keybaord among so many others. I find it easier to
hit the key, it's big and it's on the edge of that key field,
so it's so easy to find. ;-)

Could you change the default back, please?

How? The file is still file, whenever it is placed. I think The Bat! could just

make it's own global temp folder. However the placing The Bat temp folder
