Copying filters between incoming and outgoing does not change conditions like before

2004-11-24 Thread Marcus Ohlström
Copying an OFS filter with condition sender contains [EMAIL PROTECTED]
from the incoming to the outgoing section used to change the sender
condition to recipient.

With the NFS this does not happen. Is this a good or a bad thing? The
new behaviour is more logical, if I do copy a filter, an exact copy
should be created, but on the other hand, I *always* wants to change
this condition when copying between incoming and outgoing filters.

Lost account filters

2004-11-24 Thread Dean

Hello,

I backed up my 3.0.25 version, erased all registry evidence of TheBat
and proceeded to reload a fresh install with the msi file. Before I
started I transferred over the 3.0.2.7 exe. Upon starting The new
empty version I then chose OTFE, and did a restore. All the files are
there in order... The one thing that is missing, this is the second
try doing this, is the filters for each account.

Anyone else having this problem? I do have a copy of TheBat! zipped
so I can retrieve the filters, but that didn't seem to work on my
first install of OFTE. Is there a way to copy or transfer filters?

Sorry if this has been brought up, I didn't want to download new
messages after doing a backup and i can't get into the IP where the
messages are being stored right now.

AV in Maintenance center

2004-11-24 Thread Joe

Hello,
I am still having this problem.
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=3901
I have begged and pleaded with RIT labs to look into this. I can easily recreate the problem. It happens on three machines:
XP SP1, XP SP2 and Win 2k all SP's and latest updates.
All my requests for service to RIT go unanswered. They just don't respond. Not even a notification that they received my request. I hate to say this but that is just unacceptable treatment of a paying customer. To ignore a customer completely just shows their maturity level as a company and if this keeps up, I will be forced to look for another alternative as an email client for my company.
I have had this problem since the gold release of 3.0 and it is so easy to recreate. All I have to do is click Folder -- Maintenance and, depending on the time of day :)), it will either just quit, no error message at all, or I get the AV. After the AV, TB becomes unstable.
Why is this so hard to troubleshoot? I develop code for a living and I always add traces and debug options to find these problems. Is there not some type of startup option I can invoke to help diagnose this problem? Why is RIT ignoring my requests for help?
Here is another scenario. I installed a fresh TB on a clean machine, Win 2k all SP's and patches, and TB works fine. I then use my backup from the other machine and now this new machine gets the AV. So, it is definitely something in my config or mail files causing this. Does anybody have any idea what could cause this, or, do you have any idea how to narrow this down?

Joe, I don't know what could cause it--was not able to reproduce it
when I was running earlier 3.xx. RitLabs still has the feedback
request at your bug note.

If I were you, I would replace the .4 exe which your sig says you are
running with v. 3.0.2.8.

Then I would put a new note under Marek Mikus's On-the-Fly
Encryption category. You don't have to be running a Pro edition or
install the encryption part of v. 3.0.2.8 to use the .exe. It's
still the same for Pro and Home editions.

I got extremely prompt attention for my report of a spelling error
when I put a bug note in that category yesterday. :)

2004-11-24 Thread Boris Anders
Hello Peter,

Peter Hampf wrote (in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]):

And can you answer one or more of my other questions as well?

9Val answered and so only one question is left:

   - how is a filter processed that has this conditions:

 sender match data
 or text match data
 and recipient match data
 or text match data
 and recipient match data

That way:

(sender match) or (text and reciepient match) or (text and recipient
match)

The correct migration from SB to TB should have been

 sender match data
   or (text match data
   and recipient match data)
   or (text match data
   and recipient match data)

I guess the TB generated filter will not work as expected, right?

I think you are wrong - I tested it a bit and found out, that it works
the way I described above.

But you can use Add Block to make the filter (more) clear.

Re: The Bat! 3.0.2.8 is now available

2004-11-24 Thread Raymund Thomas Tump
Hi TBBeta,

one last self-speech.

right now I have 3 entries saying that they are executing a message
list on Tbbeta. And several error messages in the account log that
TbBeta can't be closed as it is temporarily unavaiable. Here are the
 details:

The list of tasks only empties if I constrain myself to 1 connection

SmartBat Preferences and Functionality

2004-11-24 Thread Avi Yashar
Preferences:

1. The tab name of SmartBat is better than the Anothe Settings we
had before.

2. On the SmartBat tab, the header Working days is acceptable, but
Work days would be better.

3. The settings for Working days do not stick. You can change them,
but the next time you open the Preferences, it jumps back to where you
were before.

4. Week starts from settings also don't stick. You can change them,
but the next time you open the Preferences, it jumps back to the
default setting of Use system's regional settings.

5. What is the meaning of Use system's regional settings? What will
happen if I change the setting here?

Functionality:

1. I am glad to see that in SmartBat, the calendar actually displays
the week in a standard fashion, with Sunday as the first day of the
week.

2. SmartBat now displays the Notepad better. On opening, SmartBat
shows my current position with cursor blinking, which is an
improvement over before (where I would start typing a note on faith).

UNIX text files

2004-11-24 Thread Avi Yashar
Whenever I receive a UNIX text file in TB, the file seems to be
automatically converted to DOS format. I don't know if this is a
behavior of TB or Windows XP. Is there some setting that I can impose
that would prevent this conversion from taking place?
