Another question about memos: The search function allows for searching
for strings in memos, that's nice. However, is there a way to create
memos for incoming messages by way of memos? Unfortunately, TB is not
capable of altering anything in incoming messages (not even adding an
X- header), so a memo could be a workaround.

Use context menu in Memo window and switch off "Always on top" item.

Thanks. I was exploring, after I found the View/Memo Auto-view, by
creating New and Reply messages to my sister. By the time I got to the
Reply experiment, all my newly acquired information was tangling up in
my head.

However, I think I will use this feature, now that I've discovered it.

I understand. However, if I'd stayed a bit more focused on the task
I'd set myself, I might not have forgotten where to access the
feature, even temporarily. Good thing though--having made the mistake,
I'll likely not forget where it is again. That is, until a revision
making the use more transparent happens. :)

There is actually some information in Help Topics under View. But what
relative Newbie is going to think of looking for Memo there! Not this
one, anyway, or not at first.

I am looking forward with such eagerness to the next version!

Mary, the trouble was my two-part message. The Meo is available for
whatever message I want it to have, you can only get at it through the
menu View/Auto-view. Which is more misleading considering that you can
actually view a memo through a column in the message list ...

The second part of my message - the new message one - was added
because I just started to write my first question after I opened the
Memo editor (to add a Memo to an archived message) and this ... Memo
editor stayed in front of my text.

As for the help an educated guess: The Memo editor will be in the next
version.

Got myself a bit confused--as does happen now and then! The View/Memo
Auto-view is of course from the menu on The Bat!'s main window and not
on the Edit Mail Message window. So it *is* available in a Reply
message.

But, it's awkward, going back and forth. I think it should be a
toolbar button on the Edit Mail Message window.

Yes. Me. Never having had an interest in this function, I had to
search for 5 minutes before I even located it.

Certainly not intuitive that it is under View/Auto-view and then only
in a New message. Still haven't found it for a Reply.

It is not even mentioned, either, in The Bat!/Help/Help Topics/Index
or "Find."

This arrangement is not acceptable. It should be offered as a button
on the toolbar and work for Reply as well as New messages.

Not good. In my opinion, a change is needed to make this feature more
accessible and functional.
