also "find whole words" doesn't (it will still find embedded word fragments),
and there is "wrap" around in the messgae, so if you start part way through a
message it will tell you "not found", even though the work you are looking for
is in the previous sentence.

Still - its alpha ;)

Every word I write is marked as misspelled.

choose the first suggestion I get as a correction.

SpellCheck Not working for me?

2008-01-14 Thread Kyle Goodnight
I have been trying to get spellcheck to work on newly created emails but
nothing seems to work. I
have Office 2007 installed and from what I have been able to glean from group
talk, the dictionary
from Office is being used. However, no amount of "fiddling" brings no
joy for spellcheck. My
deliberat mis spelled words are simply ignored. I have turned on/off the
options in the Spell
Checker tool bar and nothing seems to make any difference. Can someone shed
some light on what may
be wrong here. Is there something I have to invoke to get spell check to work??

4.0.0.10: Continuous AVs and damaged tbuser.def

2008-01-14 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I had been using TB all day (at least all afternoon and evening) with no
problem. I am not sure now if I had restarted it one or more times
during those hours.

I left TB running when I went to dinner and the sat to watch TV. When I
came back to my PC some 3 hours later I had several new messages in a
couple of accounts and when selecting one of the unread messages in a
VF I got an AV. Selecting a different message, even in a different
folders, would also generate an AV. Every time I selected a message in
the message list I would get and AV. These are the first three:

---
The Bat!
---
Access violation at address 00766E4A in module 'thebat40010.exe'. Read of
address BFAD089C.
---
Aceptar

---
The Bat!
---
Access violation at address 00766E4A in module 'thebat40010.exe'. Read of

I decided to re-start TB and when I did I got no more AVs but all my
customisations were gone. My toolbar settings, hidden menu items, etc.,
they were all gone. As I do a daily backup, I restored yesterdays
tbuser.def and everything is back to normal.

In my case, for example, for quoted text I have different colours set-up

Yes, I agree. And this 'abbreviated' conversation made me remember about
Virtual Access, the email client I used before moving to TB many years
ago. It included an acronym dictionary and when you hovered the mouse
cursor over an acronym, if it was in the dictionary, it would display a
tool tip with its meaning. Very handy! And you could even add new
acronyms to the dictionary.

It's quite a task to implement it into RTV, but I hope we can manage

Well I don't remember that it was implemented in some other way than
it is now - the logic is pretty simple - Up/Down arrows allow moving
inside the child list of the node's parent, whereas Left/Right change the

 it works:
 - double click a message written in html
 - search works in plain text
 - close search (for testing purposes) and switch to html-view
 - ctrl+f for search and indeed it doesn't work, BUT, now click inside the
text of the html-view and again enter ctrl+f, and lo and behold: it works!

there is no difference if I have context menu entry "Use plain text viewer"
enabled or disabled, RTV is used allways.

BTW there is a small difference - when I select plaintext viewer, size of
message is 0 in message header pane.
