My VF names all start with a [ and end with ] and, believe me, they are
recognised.

In view modes you can select Memo as one of the columns to be displayed
in the message list and just make it, like I do, wide enough to show the
first couple of characters of the memo. Since I am the only one writing
memos in my TB, I make sure to not start them with blanks (actually I
always use two stars ** to start them) so I will easily see if a memo is
blank or not. See attached PNG.

To me that's a different issue. I like to be able to add comments or

Yes, I know. And I use that quite a bit. For example, I have a [Family]
VF and then a physical folder for each member under it. The VF uses a
threaded view and it looks to all member folders. That way I can easily
follow threads with messages and responses from different family

Account Folder expanded while moving Message

2009-01-09 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta Tester,

sind a very long time, several month i have at least one Folder open,
when i move Messages, which is not open in Reality.

Some other Folders changed this behavior, but i am not sure if this is
the only one which behaves like this. I guess the others changed that
during new-install or deleting and recreating the Folder/Accounts.

But this one is not that easy to delete...

At least, because this is boring i would welcome every help to this
problem:

Ok, i found out, that it works - as long as this all are Real Folders.

On my first Account i press "s" and go to Sent-Mail#1 waiting and
pressing "s" again does not work. If you press "o" you go to Outbox#1
and then pressing "s" takes you to the next Sent-Mail#2.

Virtual Folders are not recognized, i dont know if it is because their
names are * Virtual *, but sure you can not type SPACE because this
has other context, maybe even * does not work.

I would prefer to have the ability to search for Folders with a
dedicated search, which could even find "hans" in "Langhansbach" or
any of "shop"

Another Problem with the Quick Search i found out is:

It does not fetch down into Subfolders only maxdepth=1
even not, if the tree is open to view.

So, this is not usable, because the Folders in the first level i can
see easy by scolling down my Wheel...

I dont want to look in different Accounts, i would be glad if i could
hide the Accounts in the Folder-Pane (like in Thunderbird it is
possible).

I have one *Common Virtual* Folder, which has all the Inboxes and i
have thematic sortet Folders for Buy-Online Bills\Phone.

All my Filters are common and sort the Messages from the Account Inbox
to the Folders.

But the first Store i am known as @franik.net the second i do not buy
that often i am known as @gmx.de depending on my trust to the store.

So under:
Buy-Online
 \Amazon known as @gmx.de
 \my-lokal-Dealer-online_order known as @franik.net

I decided to Filter with Filters, i would not love to set Filters to
the Folders, because i can not move Messages to *Common Virtual*
Folders - they are out of everything there. (Normally no Messages
reside physically in virtual Folders...).

That only works one time, if i have Folders
- MSGTAG
- MyMails

The first "m" takes me to MSGTAG, but the second not to MyMails.

You can check this, if you have more than one Account:
The first "s" takes you to "Sent Mail" of first account, now you can
press "s" again, but nothing happens.

And only the first character works.

I see that my assumption in my reply to Roelof was correct. As I wrote:

,- [ In Maxim wrote:]
| [*] Reply to a message from a common folder now tries to find suitable
| account using TO addresses
`-

Notice the "tries to find" which, to me, means it is not guaranteed it
will find it.

As a side comment, I don't use Common folders at all because I have
never seen the real advantage of using them. And I have always wondered
why many (you are just one of them) move messages from different
accounts to common folders and then want (actually 'request') that if
you reply to a message in a Common folder the reply should use the
Account (and therefor From) where the message was received.

I may be blind but, where do you guys see the advantage of using Common
folders? If I had the need to show or 'manage' in a single folder
messages from different accounts that had something in common (let's say
from the banks I use) I would use a Common *Virtual* folder. That way,
messages would still reside in the account they were received, and
proper account and From address would *always* be used even if you
replied from the Common *Virtual* folder.

Of course it's possible.
Double click on the message you want to track, it will be opened in
a 'view foler' window, that window has the name of the folder where
the message is located and when you've got 'view -> show message list'

JF> the automatic From Selection still works,

Confirmed.

JF> but it is used always the default Account.

Not confirmed. It's always using the selected account. (Selected as
where you've got the focus, not as belonging to the address that you
select in the pull down.)
But that is as it should be. After all you're changing the From
address, not the used account.
You can change the account by clicking on the shown account in the
status bar of the editor. That's how it always used to work.

JF> Even the From E-Mail does not belong to the Account.
JF> I had to implement %ACCOUNT="Jens XYZ" as a workaround in several

Same like the %From= macro doesn't change the used account.

JF> This is important to work again!

It works just fine as it is, please don't change the current
behaviour.

Adress History Missing Feature

2009-01-09 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta Tester,

there is no possibility to "Find Orginal of Message" out of the Adress
History, if you do not know in which Folder - you are lost.

In the Search Dialog, there is the Option to "Find Orginal" which
changes directly into the Orginal Folder and highlights the Message.

Collect Adresses to Adress History

2009-01-09 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta The Bat! Beta,

1)
even i have this disabled, it is now enabled again.

Folks, please have a look into your Tab "Adresses" where the
Adress-History is tracked - mine has been absolutely full, because i
never look there without an special occasion.
I had to switch it off in the Options again now.

2)
It is not possible to mark more than one Adress in this Tab to delete
it, so it has been a lot of work (every Mail 2 Keystrokes) to delete
them again.

Automatic Account and Sender From Selection Buggy

2009-01-09 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta The Bat! Beta,

the automatic From Selection still works,
but it is used always the default Account.

Even the From E-Mail does not belong to the Account.
I had to implement %ACCOUNT="Jens XYZ" as a workaround in several
Templates, after i got a lot of Mailer-Daemons.

This is important to work again!

As easy as going on ritlabs.com and click download, you come to:

http://ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php

Which is the interposed new Page and directs to

http://ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download2.php

Which is the orginal Download Page
