Re: Memory usage - TB vs Thunderbird 17.0

I consistently see TB using 165MB of RAM to start, but I do have 2 POP3
accounts, 3 IMAP Gmail accounts and 1 IMAP GMX.us account, so maybe
that is the starting memory difference.

However, I also get "Out of memory" freezes every 1 or 2 days. At
those points, TB is using 1.5GB of RAM. I have to kill the process,
then restart TB. So, there is considerable memory growth in the latest
MSI and the .1 beta version. Maybe the developers should plug these
"leaks"?

Best regards,

Stuart

Perhaps not so much logic but a bug nobody noticed, yet, for obvious
reasons.

Well, I did remove that, too, and for a split-second saw the splash
screen pop up and go under. My computer is too fast for it to be
actually seen. Sad.

I have two shortcuts, one with /nologo and one with no parameters that I
use when I want to see the splash screen. But I had never used the
/minimise parameter. I have just tried it and, even if the /nologo is
NOT included, TB is started minimised and the splash screen is not
displayed. There may be some logic in not showing the splash screen when
starting TB minimised. So, I'm afraid that if you want to see the logo
you will also have to remove the /minimise parameter.

Splash Screen

2012-12-12 Thread Dierk Haasis
Hello TBBETA Members!

  I am a bit confused.

A long time ago I set up a link to open TB with the command line
parameters /minimise und /nologo, the latter of which I temporarily
deleted if I wanted the splash screen [i.e. for Christmas]. did the
same yesterday but still don't get the splash screen. Since I cannot
find any option in the preferences I have no idea why I don't see
  the screen.

  Can anybody help?
