Re: 9.3.4.20 - Tab behaviour in editors
Hello Stefan, STvT> [*] Make Tab functionality in the HTML more similar to plain text (Alpha issue) The tabbing behaviour is not consistent between plain text and HTML editor. Plain text Editor; place cursor in an empty line in mail body and press tab: * with each tab the cursor jumps to the right: correct * Press Shift+Tab repeatedly: Cursor jumps to the To-Header input field and back to the original position in the mail body. It alternates between To and body. It does not jump back to the left within the same line as I would expect. HTML Editor; place cursor in an empty line in mail body and press tab: * with each tab the cursor jumps to the right: correct * Press Shift+Tab repeatedly: Cursor jumps to the Subject-Header input field, then CC, then To, then back to the the original position in the mail body, then back to To. Then it alternates between To and body. It does not jump back to the left within the same line as I would expect. IMO, Shift + Tab does not work as expected in any of the editors. Positive: When you are in a table cell, Tab jumps to the next cell. This was not working in a previous release. What is the desired action for the last cell? Word and Outlook create a now row and jump to the first cell in the new row. In The Bat! the cursor leaves the table. Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat! Re: 9.3.4.20 - Selection tool bar issues
Hello Stefan, About Selection Toolbar (with selected text) * When resizing the selection toolbar, the size is not saved. When a text selection is removed and some other text is selected, the selection tool bar is reverted to its previous state. * When selection toolbar is resized, on MouseUp event the editor window is sent into the background and The Bat main window comes to the foreground, the toolbar stays in foreground. * The icons of the selection toolbar do not match the icons on main toolbar. * UHD related: Currently, on a 4k screen and 150% zoom factor the selection toolbar has 4 lines and empty space. When you horizontally resize it, all icons come together in two lines but the two empty lines are not removed automatically. The toolbar looks fine on a FullHD-screen. Hello Stefan, [*] the Tab and Shift+Tab in the HTML editor now works for increasing/decreasing current block's indent I can confirm that working, but still found something to nag ... ;-) 1. Place cursor right here an press tab 5-8 times: The signature has moved upwards considerably. See screenshot: 2. When the block contains a table and the cursor is inside the table, pressing Tab also indents the block. I guess the expected behaviour is that the cursor moves to the next cell. Re: 9.3.4.14 - HTML editor tool bar questions
Hello everyone, I found a few things in HTML editor tool bar, maybe someone else could check... (I renamed tbuser.def before, HTML editor is set as standard) * "Crop image" icon is active even when no image is selected or even inserted in the mail. When an image is present, the image context menu shows the "Crop image" entry but it is not working either. * Table properties can not be accessed via table context menu or via menu bar. * On tool bar the icon "Copy to a file" does not seem to do anything. * Is it intentional that HTML editor tool bar does not contain icons for zooming in and out? Zooming via Ctrl + Scroll wheel works though. * On my system, copy and paste via Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V works; however, in tool bar "Copy to clipboard" seems to copy the entire mail text and not just the selected word. If I copy a word using Ctrl + C I can paste it via the tool bar icon "Paste from clipboard" correctly. * In "Paste from clipboard" tool bar command none of the options in the drop down menu (Paste from, Paste as Quotation, Paste as Quotation from) are active. Hello Stefan, S>>> That's the idea actually - to switch to HTML from plain text S>>> automatically once any HTML-specific feature is required. >> Sounds like a nice feature, but can it be turned off too? >> And do users keep the option of setting format (plain text or html) manually? ST> Well, it means adding a new option. Why do you think it's needed? If presence of formatting toolbars makes you worry, this can be optional, but what can be harmful in automatic changing format? * What's bothering me with the current situation, is that there are duplicate icons on the tool bar. Some of which don't even work. * If the user wants to stay with plain text, he does not know right now, which buttons to avoid. Some change the format to HTML, some don't. * Moreover the formatting option that invoked the switch to HTML is not applied right away; at the moment the user has to press the Bold-button twice: the first performs the switch to HTML, the second makes the font bold. * I'm not quite sure: In the past, was inserting a symbol only possible in HTML editor? Now it performs a switch. * Also formatting options that were possible in Microed in 9.3.4.2 now perform an editor switch (Upper Case, lower case, invert case and Capitalize) without actually applying the selected option afterwards. Even with the issues mentioned above getting fixed in upcoming releases I have mixed feeling towards it. For people that mostly write HTML-Mails this feature has no advantage. People that mostly write text mails might probably be annoyed by it. How about a dialogue before an automatic switch to HTML ("This feature requires changing the mail format to HTML. Do you want to switch to the HTML Editor?") Maybe with a checkbox "Do not ask me again". Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat! Hello Stefan, STvT> Version 9.3.3.6 is available I came upon some issues with Format-menu in new HTML-editor. Possibly, some entries are not yet linked to the new editor and therefore are not or are falsely working. Below are some examples. Perform the following actions via Format-menu, not via toolbar or short cut. * Alignment-options do not have an effect on marked text. * When formatting marked text as bold, italic, underline or strikeout, the state of the corresponding icon in the toolbar is not updated. You need to click into the marked text again to update the toolbar icon. * When marked text is formatted as bold (for example) via Format menu and afterwards the bold format is removed via toolbar, the corresponding menu entry in format menu still shows active bold formatting. * The entries Increase font and decrease font have no effect on marked text. * The entries Superscript and Subscript work as expected, but they should also have an icon ion the toolbar. * The entries Text Color and Background color format marked text in a different color than specified. There might be more issues here, but I have not checked all of the menu entries. Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat! Or better: close all bugs for the current category "HTML-Editor" since the old editor is gone in 9.3.3.3 and its bugs went along with it. Same for the bugs of category "Windows Editor". Re: 9.3.3.2 - various alpha issues with New HTML editor
Hello Stefan, * The toolbar buttons also react when pressed with right mouse button. Normally only left mouse button invokes an action. * Some toolbar buttons don't have a tooltip. * What does the button in second line with green and grey squares do? * When you enter an asterisk followed by a space it is automatically converted to a list. However, the cursor does not stay right of the new bullet point, instead it jumps to a new blank line below the bullet point. Anyone else seeing these things? Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat! Hello Stefan, anyone else seeing this: in New HTML Editor select some text, format it as bold, italic, underlined or striked out. Re: 9.2.5.6 - text color in user defined menues
Hello Stefan, STvT> Version 9.2.5.6 is available I was affected by the issue of black text on black background as described by others. This is fixed now here. An issue I found: I use a custom toolbar that displays two text labels "Tags" (German Schlagwörter) and "Colour Groups" (German Farbgruppen). They are dropdown menues that contain all my message tags and colour groups. The names of tags are shown with an unfortunate text color. It changes depending on the theme but is is mostly dark on a dark background. The image attached here is with Choco Dark Slate theme. Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat!
