-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Dierk, On 13 June 2001 at 09:45:54 +0200 (which was 08:45 where I live) Dierk Haasis wrote to Marck D. Pearlstone and made these points: Correct. DH OK, I am not a native speaker but quite an accomplished linguist DH (at least I have a degree), but phone is for a long time now DH (since the late 19th cent., making it as old as the facility DH itself) independent word and not just an abbreviation. That's why DH the abbrev indicator is obsolete. DH The main entry in the OED, BTW, reads phone [...] Also 'phone. So DH technically Stefan is correct as it can be used, but it is highly DH unusual. As you say, both are right and no ' is usual. I tend to use Tel. Number rather than Phone number in written English because there is something almost lazy about the word phone and, to me, it looks naked without the abbreviation mark. Even in spoken English the word phone has a colloquial feel. While it is used commonly, those more concerned with correctness and enunciation say telephone in full. Thus, despite usage and the dictionary, the 'phone form still has a place in the English language. Of course, I'm speaking more for native English in England than for anywhere else. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D. This way the mail got send trough the SMTP you're able to reach at the moment :-) If you create all accounts with the same sender-e-mail-address there's no problem more with roaming around the world :-) The other solution when you don't want to create them all accounts with the same user-information but only different servers you could use a quick-template that inherits %FROM='Dwight A Corrin [EMAIL PROTECTED]' (or whatever e-mail-address you want to set) lets call it 'roam', so you could create a new mail or reply to one, change the active account as mentioned and type in the mail-editor roam + the well know Ctrl+Space and the sender address (and ONLY the name/address!!!) changes to what ever is specified in the QT .-) Hope this helps you finding your way and the best solution. -- Regards Peter Palmreuthermailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (The Bat! v1.53 on Windows NT 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2) Our cause is a secret within a secret, a secret that only another secret can explain; it is a secret about a secret veiled in secrecy. -- __ Archives : http://tbbeta.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 DAC With Eudora at the office, I have been able to use DAC authentication and send from roadrunner, which is the account most of DAC my mailing lists now require, but I haven't ever been able to get TB! DAC to do that. perhaps if you elaborate on this a little we could help a bit more, I'm not sure I understand. why can't you get TB! to mail on your roadrunner account? what's preventing you from doing it? does it not send mail? does it simply send mail through the wrong server? or what exactly is the problem here. and as suggested, make sure your SMTP server is properly setup. it's in the account properties. now roadrunner provides cable internet yes? I know with @home the SMTP server is merely defined as mail it's a network thing where you don't have to specify the actual address of the mail server. so perhaps this is the problem, perhaps roadrunner doesn't provide an external smtp server. ok I just did some looking around the roadrunner site and figured out it does have an actual smtp server address, according to this it's smtp-server.sc.rr.com so make sure that is what is in your account setup as the smtp server that's all I can think of given the little information in your email hope that's helpful - -- Fiery the Angels fell...
