I fully support your idea of bookmarks. :)
When I say "each user" I would mean "each profile" or "each login"
My wife and I use one login to access our computer and read email so
I would not expect The Bat to handle 2 sets of color groups or
bookmarks for this manner of using the computer. If she was to log
off windows and log in as herself then load the bat I would expect
her to be able to have her own tools.

Yes, that would be desirable but impossible with current design. Since
users can share accounts (and therefore folders) it would require that
messages could be assigned more than just one colour group. And this is
not possible, I wish it was, that's why I launched the wish for

Further to my reply last night, I have created a Common VF with the
filter as per attachment NoColour_Filter.png and, as you can see in

assigned. Not even None ().

Confirm it works as it did before.

There is (always has been) a shortcoming in TB!: I cannot just drag an
attachment from one message to a new message. I have to save it first
and then attach it to the new message. A user of Outlook (who I tried
to convince to use The Bat! and likes some of the features) mentioned
this. I agree it would come in handy and increase efficiency.

Any chance you can implement dragging an attachment from an incoming
message to a new message? Do I need to create a wish item in the BT
or are you working on this anyway?

Hello MAU,

I have just added this note:

As I have further verified, the name can be different. The problem
appears if the Handle is the same that was used in the previously
deleted group.

The fact that when the CG is deleted does NOT force messages/folders to
revert to None (or ) can have an inpact in Sorting Office
and/or VF filters. Try it.

- Create a new folder with just one message.
- Create a new CG.
- Assign the message to the new CG.
- Create a VF looking at that folder and filtering for CG.
- No message will be displayed in VF, which is correct.
- Now delete CG.
- Verify the colour of the message reverts to default colour.
- Now look in VF, the message still doesn't show there, or does it?

It has always been so, so it's not a "partial" fix, it's a normal fix.
This way of dragging-and-dropping will be implemented when system-wide
drag-and-drop of messages and other items is implemented (planned).

4.0.14.8: Messages and folders "remain" assigned to a Colour Group even after deleting it

2008-02-28 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I discovered this just by chance while testing Colour Groups folder
tabs.

If you delete a Colour Group that is currently assigned to some
messages or folders, these messages will immediately 'loose' its colour
but will NOT be assigned CG 'None'.

So, if you later happen to create, even after a TB restart, a new
Colour Group with the same name... voila! you will have a number of
messages and/or folders with that 'new' CG assigned.

Steps to reproduce:
- Create new CG named MAU (with Unique ID: MAU) with whatever colour

- Assign it to one folder and one message

- Now delete the CG.

- The folder and message will show no CG but not 'None' as it could be
  as it could be expected.

- Restart TB

- Now create new CG named MAU (with Unique ID: MAU) but with a different
colour.

- Check the folder and message used above. What colour are they now? :)

Confirmations? If so, https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6877

No, I don't wish to change the subject on *received* messages.

I can change it when replying and it should be done some times. Don't
you think? ;)

Yes, but a restart takes ages

Confirmed. I created a new CG and assigned it to a folder. The CG is
not visible in the Configure Tab dialog.

I'd rather see the 'deleted' colour groups like we did in the last
build..

confirm, restart is needed to have newly created CG in Configuration dialog.

This is a different issue, create a new BT entry please.

Actually, no folder tab can now be created for either new or existent
CGs. Tabs that had been created prior to this version seem to still
work though.

I was going to set up BT report to 'Verify fail' but I can't even add a
note to it.

Agreed. At best, it is only partially fixed because dragging messages
to the Editor in the Windows taskbar simply does not work. However,
using alt+tab is a workaround that I did not try before, and
fortunately that does work well enough that I can limp along with 4.x
rather than revert to 3.99. :-)

I must say, however, that I am still a bit wary of the way in which
the Microeditor works. Often, after reformatting a paragraph, the view
remains somewhere off to the right (rather than on the left with all
of the text showing). Due to this quirk and others like the now fixed
copy-and-paste issue that I reported, I also wonder whether
reformatting of paragraphs can cause a loss of characters (although
that could also be just my hasty typing).

Yes, but the problem now is that new Colour groups created do NOT
appear in 'Configure Folder Sets' and, therefore, a tab cannot be
created for them..

Any confirmation?

Up and running.

In the Spell Checker menu under Languages I have choosen for Dutch and English
(British). Under options I see three tabs: SSCE, CSAPI and Hunspell.
The Hunspell tab is still greyed out.
Under Dictionaries there are only SSCE and Hunspell Dictionaries.
When a word is (under)marked by the Spell Checker and I right click on
that word, a little menu pops up with:
Suggestions
Suggest more
Ignore
Add to dictionary
Dictionary to add to (I can choose for SSCE and Hunspell Dutch and
English (British)
Options

But as soon as I place the file SSCE5532.DLL back into the The Bat! folder
I loose my spelling in the way that misspelled words are no longer marked as
misspelled.

Deleting the Registry keys for CSAPi does not have any influence on
this.

Because Hunspell is working, it is not a real stopper for me, but I
wonder what is happening.
