Confirmations anyone?

I go through a LOT of HTML emails and graphics. I run CCleaner in the tray and
it is set to clear out the cache and images folders. I delete in excess of

Curious. The mass mailing feature will simply not create messages,
neither in Outbox nor in the editor. Nothing happens when I click OK

Hi,

The Connection Centre is not closing
This appears to be due to 3 IMAP accounts that I have configured
They are staying connected with the status in the Connection Centre of
 Sleeping (Idle Mode)

I guess this is by design: IMAP idle means that the server will notify
the client immediatly when new messages arrive, whithout the client
having to ask every few minutes. For this, the client has to keep an
open connection to the server.

The way you describe it looks like the manner in which it is supposed
to work exactly. You can disconnect from a IMAP server by
right-clicking the account name and select disconnect from the
server - at least that's how it works in TheBat v4.

Up to *.138 at least ReFilter to a folder works if i get 10 new messages

But since *.139 it did not work anymore. At my installation filters work
only one time to one message (sind 139), the rest was not touched.
Write it here - nothing

As far as I can see 4.x disconnects from the IMAP servers and only checks
for new mail at specified intervals.
This meant that if the Connection Centre was set to Automatically show it
would hide automatically after each check

As 5.x doesn't appear to disconnect from the IMAP servers anymore (And I

I guess I will have to set the Control Centre to Hide instead of

If it could be set to Automatically hide if the IMAP session was Idle that
then it would behave as it did in 4.2.42.0

Similar problem here since a few builds back, in my case it is MSG I
cannot re-associate. Until this message I thought it was some
deliberately corrupted Registry entry as I first encountered it after
a minor [security] update for Outlook 2007.

Previously I had no trouble re-associating any lost file formats but
with v5beta I get the same error as Rick. I already cleaned out the
Registry, incl. deletion of MSG lines altogether - nothing helped.

As I mentioned in an earlier message I also found TB giving the above
error message for files it IS associated with.

Both actually. If you read my original message you will see that it
contains two items pertaining to re-threading messages. Firstly that it
doesn't work in the .151 RC1. Secondly that I would like an option to
turn the confirmation dialog that is displayed whenever you manually
re-thread a message off to make it less cumbersome to work with.

By the way, manual re-thread hasn't worked in any 5.x version I've
tried. I reported this (and the non-functional birthday warnings) on
February 10 of this year for version .138 and never saw a reply.

As there were no confirmations and also no mentions in the change notes
that these issues had been fixed I refrained from going to 5.x for some
time.

On March 10 I wrote another message upon the release of .147 to ask if
the re-thread issue had been fixed, but got a confirmation this was not
the case. Unfortunately I had too much other stuff going on that week or
so to follow up immediately with a BT item.

After seeing that .151 is now marked RC1, I figured I should have a look
at it again to see if the issues that I had previously seen were fixed
and apparently they are not.

On the topic of virtual folders, when are Viewmodes going to be
applied and saved for virtual folders? They are working well for the
main window and real folders now, but are ignored completely for
VFs.

This is a particular problem with a major feature of TB - the Mail
Ticker. When Viewmodes are ignored for the MT VF, it makes the
feature nearly unusable. They can be temporarily assigned and used
for one invocation, but close the MT window and the next time it
opens, the view mode is forgotten.

I used to read all mail in pre v5 versions in the MT VF, with
automatic filtering pre-placing all mail in the correct folder in
the account tree. A Ticker Viewmode includes the source folder for
the message as an extra indication of the topic. In v5, this is not
possible.

1) There is no automatic filtering that works for me.
2) MT VFs don't stick between invocations of the MT
3) The only way I can auto-retrieve email is by scheduling a mail
   check.

For me, the current release is quite far from being RC quality.

I'd like to but it is some time since I last used it. For Christmas
2009 everything went like it should,

- created several address groups [i.e. English recipients, German
  recipients]
- selected a group
- File-New Mass Mailing
- chose the appropriate template [containing several simple and
working QTs and a few lines of text]
- Save as Draft
- open the messages from Outbox to check if everything went right
- sent them

Somewhere in 2010 this stopped working, I am not sure when since I
don't remember if I tried it again for an Easter greeting or some

Tried it with Open in Editor, too, for good measure but not with Put

5.0.0.151 filters don't always work completely

2011-03-21 Thread Maurice Snellen
Listmembers:

I have a number of filters that have more than one action attached to
them, such as moving a message to a folder and then parking of flagging
it.

An example is this one:

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [2FB8C8D0.01C96A48.7A3D5E9B.60DF8B0E]
Name: Uitnodigingen
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`4`0`uitnodiging\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder
\5C\5CXS4ALL\20Maurice\5COrganisaties\5CM\5CMultiscope\5CUitnodigingen
Flag
IsActive
Ignore
endFilter

This morning I noticed that a message that was processed by this filter
was indeed moved to the folder in question, but it was not flagged. If I
move the message back to my inbox and re-filter the inbox, it sometimes
works and sometimes it doesn't.

This way, I cannot rely on filters to work consistently the way they are
meant to.

Speaking of hints, having them set to Small, they're still enormous,
except when they appear over the Account tree and Message list, where
sometimes a very small white oval-ish rectangle appears, and often
doesn't disappear even if I switch to another program.

Also, it's still possible to get mouse over the hint, which then
steals wheel scrolling.

Could be, but for me it also inconsistently forgets to apply the second
action if only one message matches that particular filter.

I do have multiple filters that have this type of setup.

I have a small issue/problem

The Connection Centre is not closing
This appears to be due to 3 IMAP accounts that I have configured
They are staying connected with the status in the Connection Centre of
Sleeping (Idle Mode)

These IMAP connections did close in version 4.2.42.0

Can anyone advise what settings I may need to make/change to get the
Connection Centre to close after checking fo new emails.

2011-03-20 Thread Roger Phillips
Hello All,

I have only just noticed that in some cases in version 5 the filters
associated with virtual folders do not capture all of the messages that they
should.

I have version 4.2.42 and version 5.0.0.151 installed to operate
independently, but accessing the same TB files, including the virtual folder
filter files. In some cases version 5 filters fewer messages than version
4. The number filtered is consistent in both cases, but different from each
other. Despite much experiment here, there seems to be no obvious reason to
determine why some are filtered by version 5 and others are not.

Any confirmation?

I cannot confirm.

I just ran some test after a lot of working with the file associations features
in Windows 7 64 bit. There is some very wrong at this point.

The file association illustrates there is something incorrect given The Bat
symbol is not tied to the association.

When I did get it to work, I had to use the Microsoft Windows flag to get it to
work instead of the bat.

This really needs to be nailed down before product goes to market.

MM What's new in 5.0.0.151 since 5.0.0.150:

With this version the View modes seemed to be working again, (ie threading and
new thread sorting seemed to be working) until I went to make changes to the
view modes. An attempt to modify my Generic View mode creates a new copy and

And let me quote from mid:419250322.20110317171...@dh2publishing.info

 - filters still broken
 - split mode doesn't hold
 - MT message window doesn't close upon deleting last message from it
 - HTML message, like the ones from Truthout but others, too, are still
   rendering text as centred

Has this been fixed? mid:1746779572.20110312141...@parkinch.co.uk

Running 'test filters' actually filters mail not just testing what
would happen. Even if you select just one email to test, the whole
 folder gets refiltered.

Another question:
mid:AANLkTi=wrcsrufkt3nkhakurwedywwllj6_hqn4lj...@mail.gmail.com

useless to say that ReFilter doesent work - not since *.138.
I do a completre new install from scratch in Win 7 64, it doesent
work - and the message inside the Bugtracker is not confirmed or anything
 else.
Back to *.138 - one of the best if i use IMAP.

I am not sure I saw a confirmation that screen splits work now.

But. . . Screen splits still do not hold. I find this annoying enough that

And are all these Access Violations fixed? I didn't keep track, but
each one is a show-stopper, of course.
