It's working. If you get a virus (should you have selected the option)
you will see the automatic creation of a Quarantine folder. You will
also find (should you have selected that option) that the folder
contains the quarantined/infected message.

As far the certify statement on incoming and outgoing mail the plugin
itself does not allow that function. You may, however, unselect the
plugin in The_Bat! and go to AVG and configure Personal E-mail
Scanner (follow the help file) and it will add the "This message is

it makes you feel secure, however the plugin from AVG7 is working.

I still get violation errors and can't close it ( Beta 2).
I do have an IMAP account, but I did close the connection window before

Comment about this from plugin developer:

You have changed the semantics of calling plugin functions.
The BAV_Initialize and BAV_Unitialize are now called multiple times,
which wasn't before.

The latest version (1.60j) also contains a bug - it calls
BAV_Initialize before testing a file, but it doesn't call Unitialize
after that!

Either revert to the previous mode where Init/Unit was called once in
a lifetime of the plugin or properly pair calling of Init/Uninit.

Link to new version of plugin, which accepts multiple calling:

I don't think it is.

Suppose you have a AV program and a virus on your computer which this
one can't recognize. So TB! would certify that the outgoing mail is
clean. Well, hopefully the receiver isn't so stupid to rely on it, so
normally he will use his own virus checked nevertheless if there is a
certification or not.

I hope it is supported. It should be!

AFAIAC these "certificates" add more clutter than information. I don't
trust any such stamps. They just advertise a virus scanner. How would I as
a recipient of such certified mails know if the user has configured
his/her scanner properly? Trust nobody!

Besides, what good is a mail with such a "certificate" when the
recipient's MTA simply rejects any attachments anyway?

Will it be possible to leave the viruschecking as it is now? I don't
want to set up all accounts to a proxy.

Really sad.

Will there be a 'Warning dialog' when sending infected files in further
versions of the AVG-Plugin or isn't that supported by the API?

Yes i installed the plugin too. Works perfect. Send myself a virus.
And the message was placed into a Quarantine folder. Nice. The only
thing which doesnt work is to Sign incoming and outgoing messages with
a certificate as it is told in the configuration..But doesnt matter.

AVG works with OE and MS Outlook too and Grisoft actually develops
POP/SMTP proxy, which will work with any client and will certificate mails
going through it. Certification is not possible with actual TB's API
plugin interface.

Thanks for the link. I was wondering if there was one about.

It is a nice site. It is only a pity I can not read it.

I have just installed it on SecureBat!. I will now do a bit of testing on
it. Marck can you send a virus OFF LIST as I have lost mine.

I have noticed that it does not place a message on the outgoing message as
yet. I will try a full reboot and the see.
