Not sometimes over here, but every time.
Having a look at 'View' / 'Edit Shortcuts' showed me +F is
assigned twice in 'Message List Pop-Up': 'Find Message' & 'Forward'.
Double-clicking the former and deleting the shortcut with using
solved this problem for me ...
Should be fixed from RITlabs side, as there shouldn't be
double-assignments coded in :-)
Maybe they should have a look at 'Warnings' too before shipping the

Although I can confirm that, and because the menu tells "send now" it must be

immediately when I hit +Enter :-)

OK, I know it does wrong in this case, but I nevertheless like it :-) I'm
ABSOLUTELY used in sending my e-mail with +Enter ... but this was never
an option for me to send immediately. THIS was in every MUA I've used so far
set in the preferences, not by a key-combo.
I DON'T like the "send immediately" way, and I'd be in serious trouble if
+Enter would change it's behavior but I have an idea how to make most of
us happy (I dunno how many people are preferring the use of their keyboard
over the mouse, so I may be totaly wrong with my suggestion, but nevertheless
here it is :) ):

- Make +Enter send the way it is told in the account-preferences
- Make F2 send the opposite way
- Correct the menu texts to reply on this (new) behavior :-)

THAT's I'd appreciate it :-)

Have a look at the icons of the address book entries: males have a blue
(small) icon, females red and undefined sort of grey. I mean the small
person inside the icon. It could be bigger so it is easily missed.

For this reason I moved all of my templates to the address book long
ago and don't use folder templates.

No reason, I do that all the time. That's not quite true. I just
overwrite if a new beta is out; if a new release version is out, I
download from the "normal" (non-beta) site and run the whole install
thing. The only reason for that is, that often the help files and
other stuff gets updated too. The beta site contains only the .exe
files.

Re: bug report - allow 8 bit chars in msg. header

2000-07-12 Thread Ming-Li

Hi SyP,

> when there were no 8 bit characters in the "To:" field, there were
> no problems.

Confirmed. 8-bit characters in other fields (From & Subject were
tested) would not cause any problem. Putting one in the "To:" field
would cause the problem as you described.

And after dozens of tests, I also found some other interesting
things (same setting: Acc1-allow 8-bit in header, Acc2-no):

1. The changes is done the moment you move the message (from
Acc1-Outbox to Acc2-Outbox). It doesn't appear that way when you
look at it in Acc2-Outbox. But I found that out when I export the
message from Acc2-Outbox (before sending it out) and look at it with
an text editor. Same with the one in Acc2-Sent. I.e., when you look
at the message in TB with View/[RFC-822 headers] enabled, you see:

To: Szabolcs Péter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

But when you export the message to a msg file and open it with a
text editor, you see:

=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Szabolcs_P=E9ter?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

In contrast, if the message is created natively in Acc2, you should
see this when previewing it in the Outbox (with headers shown):

To: =?ISO-8859-1?B?U3phYm9sY3MgUOl0ZXI=?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

2. With the "Allow Local Delivery" option enabled, the message
received wouldn't have some headers spilled into the body. If not
(if the message is delivered through the normal smtp-pop3 process),
that happens. I think it's because smtp or pop3 server has trouble
interpreting the header (for the "To:" field is gone) and somehow it
put extra blank lines into the header. If I'm not mistaken, any
thing after a blank line is considered the message body.

That's it. I think you've found a bug.

BTW, does any know whether we should still file an official bug
report after a series of discussion like this?

I can't reproduce the described instability here.
