Dears,  we would like to know how often you missclick on first message in list and instead of it you clicked on header and as result the sorting become broken and you have to restore initial sorting.
In this case we have 2 variants:
 1. Add an empty line between header and list of messages
 2. Sorting will be applied only if click we inside the text or image in the header, not in empty space of header,
Which case is better?

Number 2 it's good for me, but I want to suggest a number 3.

3. Re-add the old option of "real" ignore changes in View Modes.

Lots of versions ago Ritlabs changed the way it worked the "Ignore Changes" option in Preferences / Message List / View Modes

Today the Ignore Changes does nothing if we change the order of columns and we change to another folder with the same View Mode. Before the "change" lots of versions ago, when we changed to another folder with the same view mode we got the View Mode column order because (as it name means) the changes are ignored.

Today, when I do one mistake of sorting, I need to go to my Spam folder (has a custom View Mode only for that folder) and return to the previous folder I was to get my View Mode another time.

I understand some people loves the current way of working, but I prefer the old one which ignores all. I don't know why Ritlabs didn't added a new option on the Preferences / Message List / View Modes, the old one should be "Ignore Changes" and the current one should be "Ignore Changes except sorting".

Hello Lüko,

Or leave it as it is. It is just one click to restore the original sorting.

Fully agree.

For example. Or HTML rendering by The Bat! HTML viewer.

Maybe half a dozen times in my many many years using TB. I think it is not worth devoting even seconds of development time to "this problem".
