No more AV's with this version. Vili advised me to delete tbuser.def

Is it just my system? With the 3.62 series, TB seems slower when going
from folder to folder. Starting TB shows some delay and flicker on
startup. Finally, opening and closing windows (address book, editor,
search, etc) seem to be slower and have that flicker too. Did not
happen before.

Thanks Richard. That won't work for me since the "All" tab was
introduced some betas ago. I did track down the problem and deleted
the "tbuser.DEF" file. That restored the option to show or hide the
message tabs. This is located under "View." Now I have to rebuild all
my customizations.

There have been a couple of posts talking of deleting that file solving
problems. Maybe we should all do it ;-)

That's the one I should have told you about, not the Options setting!
you mean you didn't have it before you deleted the .DEF file? then I'm
lucky because I have it although I'm not sure I didn't customise it and
put it there when the Tabs were first implemented! Glad we're both happy
now :-)

Hello Richard!

On Wednesday, November 02, 2005, 1:51 PM, you wrote:

> I thought he meant "live" or stay and not leave or disappear or

He did.

The key word here is "subsequent," in the sense of "coming after
version 3.62.10."

He was saying you would have to restore your userdic.tlx file after
installing .10 because the msi would delete it, in .10.

Then he says that v. 3.62.11 or .12 or whatever they offer you next
will not delete it. Or overwrite it.

This is the way in which the bug is fixed. At least, that's my
understanding of 9Val's words:

9Val in [EMAIL PROTECTED] :
==
[-] userdic.tlx overwritten

ATTENTION: Unfortunately MSI doesn't allow to silently ignore file
absence. It means that on update to .10 it will *delete* it. So you
need to backup that file and restore it after updating. All subsequent
versions will leave userdic.tlx to live forever.
==

"All subsequent versions" I take to mean v. 3.62.11 and its
successors.

"will leave userdic.tlx to live forever" I take to mean that from v.
3.62.11 this file will no more be overwritten.

Not so?

After installing 3.62.09 yesterday and after a spyware scan this

Well when I see anything that says Trojan, I delete it. I had never

The only conclusion I can draw from this is that his tbuser.def
did NOT get messed up (otherwise he wouldn't have been able to
switch languages in his previous "public 3.62".

So, something in the handling of tbuser.def in the later post
release beta versions must have changed (gone wrong).
