Re[2]: [SOT] Stopping a message from being sent
>>> | Under certain circumstances (which can be checked with Outgoing filter >>> | conditions) I'd like to stop a message from actually being sent. One idea: you create a QT that will replace the @ in the recipient to #. That way the SMTP server reports an error if you try to send, and you have to manually go to the Outbox, open the mail, (run another QT to) replace the # to @, and send. Or you simply include this QT in the template of specific mails... -- Vili Current beta is 4.0.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Now you will laugh: so I wrote that and clicked on Send now, to see that confirmation window to quote the text. I forgot, I did not have that confirmation window set for this account :)) -- Vili Current beta is 4.0.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi MAU, On Friday, February 08, 2008 at 11:08:58 AM you wrote: M> There are many tricks, but I assume you have read what I wrote several M> times by now: "Under certain circumstances..." Yes - I did read. For these circumstances, would a "kill processes" hot-key combination work, or do you need something "automatic" like a filter? If so, could a "save as draft" command be put in the reply (or new) template when the specified conditions appear? If it is only mails to a certain entity, then this could work. Is that possible? I've got to worry when you can't come up with a clever filter solution, MAU, when you are the king of filters. +:-) -- Regards, Maggie Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent. -Jean Kerr Running Windows XP, 5, and emailing with The Bat! 4.0.7 Current beta is 4.0.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Thank you. For important mails, I prevent this accidental sending by not putting an address in the To field until the mail is written and edited. A filter category would be helpful. -- Regards, Maggie Be patient and achieve all things.
