ACM I've never threaded by sender, but are you saying that in former
ACM versions, threads containing new messages would be moved to the top of
ACM the message list, leading to easy retrievability?

Yes, we are. It was *very* convenient.

The way it's being done is illogical. Here is the way a 5-message
thread is being sorted with V1.54 beta 19:

   Wed, 19 Dec 2001 08:07:38 EST
   Tue, 18 Dec 2001 11:34:08 EST

DAC what do you do with this?

DAC first message 1800

DAC reply 1,1 1820 reply 1,2 1830
DAC reply 1,1,1 1831 reply 1,2,1 1835
DAC reply 1,1,1,1 1840 reply 1,2,1,1 1840
DAC reply 1,2,1,2 1840 reply 1,3 1840

You are talking about treading by references (or standard). We was
talking about treading by from (or another nonstandard). Different
threading have different logic and should be treated differently.

EJM Golden rule, leave the user no worst off after the change than before.

EJM PS. If I sound frustrated, I just can believe after 19 betas, we are
EJM still trying to find a solution for a non issue. Please fix for the
EJM next beta!

They just don't think it's a bug! May be they don't use nonstandard
threading?! :)
