GMM I don't think that moderators are demagogs. This is contradiction in
terms,

I was referring to the concern with those people paying their internet
 per byte DL'ed.

C You know, I wouldn't mind if this 'discussion' stopped. I know it was my
C lousy message that started off this thread... can I make a lousy request to
C stop it right here and now? ;)

I already did. That was my last email to that matter (not counting
this one). As you may see I trimmed the whole message leaving little
to be replied.

A simply inquiry which I'm sure Max will provide an answer to as he
 did before Christmas.

We could have compiled the beta today, but some things don't yet work
after the rework. Such things are Quick Search etc. I think that WIR
will be the most exact estimate ;-)

Secondly, the first question that pops to mind is: will the languagefiles
automatically be updated to the new format when launching new 'batty'?
The Bat! will read localized strings from the old LNG files as usual.

PVN Hi Goncalo,

You're being demagog.

No big deal with that. I already justify all the text and that
really ONLY affects people that actually reply to the message.

PVN I believe this list existed before you joined it. Since that is
PVN the case you have two choices: Accept the rules of the list or
PVN leave the list. Your disrespectful comments are becoming
PVN overbearing and totally out of place.

I can't see any disrespect in saying that someone is trying to appeal
to passions and prejudices. Maybe I lost my sensibility.

DH Hello Goncalo,

DH On Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 20:47:22 GMT + (which was
DH 21:47:22 where I live), Goncalo Farias wrote and made these valuable
DH points on the subject of Update on the Status of Software:

It doesn't crash because it looks like it was built with a borland
compiler but those AV's really are of concern. :)

DH ..hhh..I'm heavily using TB Beta versions since at least
DH 3 months on a daily base and the number of AV's can be counted on
DH the fingers of one hand
DH ..but I have to admit that I never used IMAP...;-)

Nor Exchange support I believe.

Hello Ethan,

On Tue, 18 Jan 2005 you wrote in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

EJM Time lines are important.

Sorry but that's rubbish in this case. It doesn't make a penny worth of
difference whether they bring out the beta tomorrow or this time next
week. I'm sure they're trying to get the best possible programme out to
the testers or else we'll have a rehash of all the moaners coming out of
the woodwork yet again for another week or two.

EJM My question was a simple inquiry to find out where we are at right
EJM now.

And my answer was just as simple. Be patient and wait for a, hopefully,
fairly bug free beta which will be released when they are ready to
release it. If they promised to release it, say, tomorrow and it came
out full of bugs, you'd be up in arms saying Why release a buggy
version? They are trying to avoid that, it seems to me, and yet people
still complain. They can't win and I pity them because they have given
us a quite wonderful, IMHO, product that does 95% of what people want
95% of the time, or am I just easily satisfied?
