Nice anecdote! :-)

Yes, it can ...

Gute Nacht! ;-)

Ah, but perhaps he wanted someone named "Schnell" to get out! :-)

The only way I ever heard it used was when Dad would give us a
command, and would yell "Raus, Schnell" very loudly - and
semi-humorously. He never spelled it for us. His translation (from
being an American G.I. in Germany during the war, 1945), was that it
meant "Scram, quickly!" I of course never knew otherwise.

Anyway - thank you for the mini-lesson in German adjectives. I
assume it can also be used as an adverb? I don't know.

No need to apologize. The German word "schnell" (means quick or fast)
is an adjective and therefore written in lower case. ;-)

Speller Test - Successful

2008-02-06 Thread Bob Riley
Hi Self,

I am going to try to see if "schnell" gets added to my English
dictionary if I make that choice from a right click menu when the
cursor is in the word ("schnell" is underlined in red, of course, not
being an English word).

Yes, it did! I am using the SSCE default dictionary! And the "add
to dictionary" feature worked fine.

Take care,

 Bob

P.S. German speakers, please forgive my not capitalizing the "schnell."
It was only all in lower case for the test.
