I have the same problem with someone called Müller, also resulting in
double escapes etc, causing two recipients and errors when sending.

I saw a woman wearing a sweatshirt with 'Guess' on it. I said,
'Thyroid problem?'

I have just tried this with TheBat! 3.0.2.6. Frustrating, the erroneous
behaviour is still present!

A reply to a message with this header

From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?=22Da=DFke=2C_Detlev=22?=
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

results in a new message this addressees:

  \\Daßke, Detlev [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So actually TB in the most recent version (ok, .7 is out, I know) generates
a message to TWO recipients which will be rejected by my ISP.

The original sender is using MS Outlook connected to an Exchange server.
Hence there is no possibility for him to change his sender name.

Strange address behaviour

2004-11-18 Thread Peter Hampf
Good evening tbbeta,

I frequently get messages from a person Detlev Daßke with this header line:

From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?=22Da=DFke=2C_Detlev=22?=
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

In the message overview window the sender is displayed as Daßke, Detlev
but in the message window (header pane) it is displayed as

\\Daßke, Detlev [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When I reply to such a message it can't be sent out, because the server says
that the address is incorrect (in fact it is seen as two different
addressees).

Whos fault is it?

I think it is a bug in The Bat!. I also observed such double escaped
double quotes in addresses with QP encoding. It was in last versions of
The Bat!. Messages were created in MS Outlook.

Hello Zygmunt,

Same here.

It was in last versions of The Bat!.

It was a 2.x Version of TheBat! and the adress did contain a umlaut
(ä, ö or ü).

Yes, it was MS Outlook here too - so I'm not sure, if we can speak
about a bug in TheBat! ...
