I have been noticing little "pauses" for some months when I am editing a message text in MicroEd at times (I seldom use .html, so don't know if I get it there also). I haven't worried about it, thinking it might be my BitDefender Suite, but perhaps, since you mentioned it, it could be something in TB. I have no idea! Perhaps I should turn off BitDefender and see if I ever get those pauses then. Hmmm...
