Wouldn't you prefer that the To column displayed only the To: field?
Hello all, I don't know if you all are fully aware of how the 'To' column in the message list works. I was, but I tend to forget. It is not new to this last release, AFAIK it has always been like that (at least it is so in good old 3.02.10) The 'To' column, if wide enough, displays the name/address(es) of the To: field *plus* the name(s)/address(es) of the Cc: field if there are any. This, adding the Cc names, is what I have come to the conclusion that should not be that way, for three reasons: A.- I doubt that most TB users are aware of it. B.- I doubt that most users, if aware, will need and make the To column wide enough to see more than one name/address or so. C.- To me, this is the most important. It is misleading when using the 'Alt+click' filtering on the To column. Let's see an example. Assume you have a folder that includes the following three messages: 1.- Message To: A 2.- Message To: A and CC: B, C 3.- Message To: A and CC: B, D What happens when you Alt+click on To column of message 1? Right, only message 1 is displayed. Same for messages 2 and 3, only 2 or 3 will be displayed respectively. And this is what was driving me nuts last night when I was Alt+clicking in my Sent Mail folder to find some messages. I am quite sure that most people would expect that, whether alt+clicking on 1, 2 or 3 in the example, the three messages would be displayed. Specially if the To column is not set wide enough to see that there is more than one name/address displayed. Don't you think this issue may be at least misleading and/or annoying? I thought about submitting a feature request to change the To column to show/display _only_ the To field, but I'd like to hear some comment from you first. TIA. -- Best regards, Miguel A. The To column, it is the To /column/ they would have to mess around, not the /field/. And I'd rather they don't mess around with Atl+click. It works just fine the way it does now.
