language won't be properly set with macro
Hallo tbbeta, For ages I've been using %language=NL to set the language for the spell checker to Dutch, but it doesn't function anymore. I thought I was continuously bitten by the bug that language wasn't remembered, but I just checked and confirmed that my account templates all specify NL and it used to work. -- Groetjes, Roelof Support lesser lifeforms ... take a moderator to lunch. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.0.0.21 (BETA) Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 3 pop3 accounts OTFE enabled P4 3GHz 2 GB RAM pgpJlREJ69UuU.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 4.0.0.20 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I also have a QT called SLANG that I include in my reply templates so the language will be set to that of message being replied (as estimated by PopFile) and this also seems to work: ,- [ Slang QT ] | %IF:%SETPATTREGEXP='(?im-s)^(X-Text-Classification)\:\s*(.*)$'%- | %REGEXPBLINDMATCH='%HEADERS'%- | %SUBPATT='2'=eng:%LANGUAGE='CSAPI BR':%LANGUAGE='CSAPI SP' `- -- Best regards, Miguel A. Try DU instead of NL. Problem with language macro's is that, if you go to a folder where no language macro is being used (same applies to AB templates), TB will still be using the dictionary that was used before. -- Best Wishes, Mark using The Bat! I already explained to Stefan. Replace German with French in my situation. On top of what you said, Dutch acts a little bit like a sponge as far as foreign words (especially English and - under the influence of the Dutch who, in general, know far less French than the Flemings - also French words) are concerned, sometimes with a slightly different spelling. -- Best Wishes, Mark using The Bat! Re: language won't be properly set with macro
Hello Roelof, I kind of overlooked that. It's a rather disturbing thread. It's bad enough to have multiple dictionaries loaded for one language, but to have dictionaries loaded for two or three languages at the same time is self defeating. I certainly will not have and use more than one dictionary for a single language. But handling a couple of languages in the same message may be useful some times, not very often though. I write messages in Dutch, English and German, unfortunately the three languages are similar enough that a typo in one language is a proper word (or even the proper translation) in one of the others. I know what you mean. That would me my case if I was writing in Spanish and Italian or Portuguese I need to be able to change the language automatically based on folder or recipient. One easy way to solve this is a QT for each language. The way the %LANGUAGE macro works now is that if you select only one language it will de-select any other language(s) that may be previously selected. I have verified this today with my BR (for British English) and SP (for Spanish) QTs. Another option is to do something like I do with my SLANG QT included in my reply templates based on the classification done by PopFile. It will classify non-spam as either 'eng' or 'esp' based on language. I've been using this set-up for several years. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
