So for recursive macros, you need to use a new set string markers for
each nested macro. You can't alternate them. OK. I guess this was the
problem.

Hey Roelof,

My MUA believes you used The Bat! (v1.60m) Personal
to write the following on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 7:16:30 PM.

RO No, after all it's not that difficult to kill 100 windows,
RO especially when they're al maximized, so the closing x is at the
RO same place.

I believe that the esc key works to close sub windows of TB... ie,
if I enter on a message to open it, esc closes it.

But I don't know if he really tested the latest patches he wrote against
The Bat!, formerly there were some problems using The Bat!, at least for
SMTP-AUTH based on CRAM-MD5 ... I'll have to have a closer look for this
and maybe drop a note to Bill.

YC I installed the all the necessary software (also stunnel and openssl)
YC I only want that, usernames and password dont captured during the

So using SSL connections will suffer and if APOP fails it's not the most
worse scenario .. OK.

YC Here is the problem:
YC Most of my users use Netscape mail client and they have no problem with
YC POP3 with SSL. But I like TB :-) and want the same security with the

OK, their POP3-over-SSL works, so stunnel as the culprit is no debate (I
think).

[stunnel error message snipped]
YC I have not got a real certificate, is it problem for TB

That might be, but that's no reason for stunnel to fail. You should see an
error message about untrusted certificated in The Bat!'s log file.

But for 'debugging' stunnel we're running straight OT on this list so I'd
suggest you subscribe TBTECH

YC TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

if not already done and we continue to discuss there (unless a moderator
drops me a note I should continue on TBOT ?!?).

I'll cross-post this message there so you can reply to this message if
you're subscribed and I'll try to instruct for further steps ...

First will be sending the output of

Read you on TBTECH ...

Hi Allie,

An archeological dig discovered that on Friday, May 31, 2002 at 05:55

This bug was discussed back in July, though I can't find the original

When I reply to my own message, everything beneath my sig delimiter is
skipped, should work for you too. TB (and several other mail clients)
skip everything in a quoted message after a dash, dash, blank, return
(on a new line).

Makes life easier for your contacts.

  TBTECH Mission statement
..
The TBTECH list has been set up for the purpose of discussing The Bat!
and related issues that are of a more technical nature than is catered
for in the TBUDL list. Such topics as Regular Expression, RFC content
and compliance, plug-in programming, Spell-checker semantics, 3rd
party software, ISP policy, Internet protocols and anything else that
could bore a beginner into leaving the TBUDL!

Simply send messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to send it to the
whole list.

To leave this list, send a message to the auto-responder at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]. You *must* submit the unsub
request from the email address at which you receive list traffic. The
list server will send you a confirmation message. You will not have
left the list until you have responded by forwarding the confirmation
message to [EMAIL PROTECTED].

If you wish to receive the list digest instead of individual mails,
please send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text..
  set tbtech digest

Here's a quick link for it .. just double click here and send the
message that is generated to begin receiving the list as a digest:

If you ever wish to change back to standard message mode, please send

It would probably be a good idea for you to set up a folder to keep
TBTECH messages in. If you do this, the next most useful thing to have
in place is an automatic filter to move mail from your inbox into your
TBTECH folder.
