I have gotten these strange access violations when
The Bat was downloading new mail from the server
and I was working in another program. It doesn't
happen very often, but when it does, I get
multiple access violation screens, and it locks up
my computer forcing a restart.

I'm using version 1.53d personal edition, and I
have 512M Ram with Windows 98SE.

>hello, when I 'hover' over a message URL the blue arrow lights up
>when I click (once) a lot of thrashing around occurs i.e. movement
>of the mouse pointer in fact it gets locked into a waiting icon
>(hourglass) but the default browser (opera 6x) is not launched and
>if I 'double click' on the URL I get an access violation warning:

>..at address 008157D4 in module 'THE BAT.EXE' read violation of
>address 0097ffff

>The hourglass icon won't go away within the bat window, until the
>bat is closed and restarted.

>Opera is not in memory when URL is 'clicked'.

>I haven't seen this action in previous versions

>I'm running win98se with 256M RAM

>I'm using v.1.6RC/2

>Does this happen to anyone else, and if so how did you correct it?

>The only action I've taken was to reload the program, but there was
>no change.

>Thanks,

>C.K.
