mailing list query
Hi, I have around 2000 email addresses where I want to send notifications every week. Is there an easy way to do it through The Bat! instead of pasting the email addresses in the BCC: field? Thanks, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I will indeed remove Compression and see for speed difference. Is there any chance with using the compression facility (even a remote chance) that I might lose data in any case? sorting office
Hi, I have not used The Bat! for a long time. I switched to *nix when The Bat! was 1.38e. So, I need some help here for my friends who I am turning into The Bat! users. A friend received around 1000 email in Inbox (for a newly created account). Now she has to sort all the mails with Subject conting, - [freshers_bca] OR - [ma_global] OR - [tba_rural] to a folder - IT. I can do it for one Subject string from Sorting Office - Filters. But cannot get The Bat! to filter (manually) with more than 1 string. Any tips? Cheers, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
large mailboxes
Hi, A friend of mine has recently started using The Bat! and has over 50,000 messages in it (most imported from OE). The problem is that it takes quite a while to close The Bat!. It shows "Compressing folders" for more than a couple of mins. Is there any way to get around this suitation? Thanks, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
IMAP again: deletion
Hi, I had 2 mails in my Inbox which I retrieved through The Bat! using IMAP. I read them and then went to webmail to delete them permanently. I assumed that The Bat! must have kept a local copy on my disk, but when I clicked on those messages in The Bat! they vanished. Is this normal? If no, how do I avoid it? Regards, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

IMAP folders
Hi, I am using The Bat! version 3 with an IMAP server. Now I want that whenever I send a mail, a copy of the mail to be stored on server too. Is that possible with The Bat!? How do I do it? Regards, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

password protected account deletion
Hi, I have an old account on The Bat! whose password I have forgotten. I do not need that acount, nor its mails anymore. How can I delete that account? Whenever I try to delete that account The Bat! asks me for password. Any ideas? Cheers, Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
spam filtering
Hi, I am trying the latest version of The Bat! profesional. I have a question on spam mails. There are a quite a few spam mails I get daily. If I mark them as Junk, will that ensure I don't get them in future? If possible, I would like The Bat! to delete them without even downloading them. Is it possible and if yes how do I go about it? Thanks. Shantanu -- http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

pull down address list.
Hi all, Being a former Eudora user I miss the below functionality in The Bat! very much. If I had used several To:/CC:/BCC: addresses like, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc, in Eudora when I started typing "sha" it would give a pull-down list of all addresses from where I could choose any one. But The Bat apparently does not do that. Is there any way I can have this functionality? Thanks a lot in advance and bye. Regards, Shantanu http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Whenever I type Al in account body just the email gets printed there in message body itself. Inshort, it acts like an abbrevation and not as macro. What is the solution to this? using different smtps
Hi, I have 2 accounts in The Bat! say A and B. They both use different SMTPs. Now I get a mail on account A and I want to forward it to a friend but using the identity as B and SMTP of B. I can use the identity of B using the pull down menu for From: , but how to change SMTPs? Right now I drag the mail from A's Outbox and put it in B's one and then send. Is there any easier way for this? Thanks in advance and bye. Cheers, -Shantanu -- System Error - Virus 'MS-WINDOWS' found!! Erase [Y/Y]? http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I went into "Options | Preferences | Message Headers" and added an header. A menu box opened where I had to state 2 things viz, - name which appears in editor box for that header - I put MFT - rfc822 name where I put - Mail-Followup-To: But this does not work. I cannot see this field when I compose a new message. I tried putting just "MFT" for rfc822 field and then it worked, but in the mail sent, the header was described as, MFT: and not Mail-Followup-To: Can someone solve this? Mail-Followup-TO header
Hi all, Can someone please tell me how to use Mail-Followup-TO header in The Bat. I want The Bat! to respect Mail-Followup-To headers plus I want it to add Mail-Followup-To headers whenever required. importing PGP keys from file
Hello, How do I use The Bat 2.x to import public key from a ascii file pubkey1.asc? I am using The Bat's default PGP method. Thanks and great to have a ML for The Bat! I always had a few doubts and no one to ask. -Shantanu http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
