Hello Charlie!

Actually the problems can have manifold reasons. for instance, most of
the time my on-line applications work good and seamlessly,
nonetheless sometimes there is trouble:

Automachron and GetRight tend to get frozen (and freeze
the rest of the system) when Opera, Agent and TB! get
opened under certain conditions.

URLs and e-mail addresses sometimes don't open but freeze
programmes (regardless where I click on the URL, it could
be from Paradox or Word or ...). This problem usually is
tied in with the first one.

For Opera there have been some problems with TB! (and Eudora or
Pegasus) on some systems where one had to use the Use external
mailer because System default parsed the address incorrectly
(adding a question mark and rendering the address malformed). But this
has been addressed with 6.01 final and is not present in the current
beta of Opera.

The opening of various windows due to a mis-parsed URL was only a
problem if one clicked more than necessary on a URL.

yes, to v.601

Check command http://www.thebat.net; from the Start-Run

Max..I went to the site you mentioned, did the FAQ's but have missed
this mention of troubles with Opera.

Can you be more specific, i.e. does the bat work with the latest
opera version or not, something like that. Which application has
caused the problem here, who's working on what?

Thanks,

C.K.

Re: access violation

2002-04-02 Thread Jane Ellen

I have gotten these strange access violations when
The Bat was downloading new mail from the server
and I was working in another program. It doesn't
happen very often, but when it does, I get
multiple access violation screens, and it locks up
my computer forcing a restart.

I'm using version 1.53d personal edition, and I
have 512M Ram with Windows 98SE.

hello, when I 'hover' over a message URL the blue arrow lights up
when I click (once) a lot of thrashing around occurs i.e. movement
of the mouse pointer in fact it gets locked into a waiting icon
(hourglass) but the default browser (opera 6x) is not launched and
if I 'double click' on the URL I get an access violation warning:

..at address 008157D4 in module 'THE BAT.EXE' read violation of
address 0097

The hourglass icon won't go away within the bat window, until the
bat is closed and restarted.

Opera is not in memory when URL is 'clicked'.

I haven't seen this action in previous versions

I'm running win98se with 256M RAM

I'm using v.1.6RC/2

Does this happen to anyone else, and if so how did you correct it?

The only action I've taken was to reload the program, but there was
no change.

Thanks,

C.K.
