It is over when I disable mygate. but I need it for newsgroups. If I enter again
the whole winsock of my machine becoumes unuseable :( Maybe I have to try an
upgrade from it.

I'm not sure about their origin, but I see these files quite often,
many of them of 0 bytes size. To keep my temp folder from being
cluttered I added this line to my autoexec.bat:

   del *TEMP\*.t*

Now on each reboot all .tmp or .txt files in the temp folder are
deleted without confirmation prompt.

Have you checked the tbudl archives? This is often caused by virus
scanners holding a lock on the file while TB tries to delete them
after it has done with them.

Hi Peter,
You could be right. I use the AGV plugin. I find it works fine without
and technical problems. t is just that AGV can be slow in picking up new
 viruses.

No. This happens when there is an "intermediary"¹ between the mail
server and TB I'm told and that "intermediary" does not let TB import
the messages properly.

I use the Kaspersky plug-in and MyGate and have had up to 60K bat temp
files!

IMO it's a TB problem (that they aren't deleted again).
